    Seen your video on EGR cooler replacement .There is even a more easier way to carry out this repair I am ford tech and the trick is to remove both wiper arms,the plastic cowling held in by plastic clips just need a flat blade screw driver for these clips .Once top cowling is removed go for the metal plate that holds the wiper motor assembly remove all the 10mm bolts disconnect the wiring loom to the wiper motor note if you have fender indicators cut the wire which goes to right side only will need re-soldering when refitting.Should give you so so much more room to get all the bolts that hold both the EGR and cooler.I split the EGR away from the cooler to make it easy to remove cooler as you did on the left side And for more excess remove the 4 torx bolts that secure the EGR motor I believe the bolts a E25 or E30 1/4 drive ratchet,extension bar. or try a torx Allen key. This method applies to both BT50,Ford Ranger 3.2 auto or manual 2WD or 4wd.This method gives greater access and the whole job should take between 2 to 3 hours.

    Hard to say, but I'd think you would want to be a reasonably handy DIYer. If you have some experience, you could do it, it may just take longer to navigate through, if you have no experience I'd say take it to a mechanic. Knowing that those banjo type oil feed fittings need copper washers on both sides of them will help avoid disasters too.

  • @gettingitdone1
    @gettingitdone125 күн бұрын

    Hi there, sorry we didn't actually fix that as the customer didn't want to fix that. It can be a different issue each time, often it's the flap not being able to reach it's home position, or a gear slipping. You really need to follow the noise and see what is actually happening on yours. Unfortunately that sort of thing is not usually that easy to get to.

    Thank you very much, this video was really helpful. Am curious to know, what is the danger or disadvantages on the car if the flash lightning signal is on.

  • @gettingitdone1
    @gettingitdone125 күн бұрын

    Disadvantages would be the vehicle not running correctly and a loss of power and driveability, because the throttle either won't open or be in the wrong position. The danger would be if it went the other way and decided to default to open instead of closed. That would be a really dangerous situation of you're driving although that scenario would be pretty rare I would think.

    Can the cooler leak exhaust gas?? I have one that smell bad exhaust fume on where the exhaust manifold is Please help

  • @gettingitdone1
    @gettingitdone126 күн бұрын

    Yes EGR coolers can crack and leak exhaust files externally. You can cut a length of garden hose, put one end to your ear, move the other end around the area you suspect the leak is coming from (with the engine running). You should be able to pin point exactly where the leak is.

    My oil light only comes on when warm and at idle when rpm is below 1100.. give it a little gas and it goes away.. pressure drops to near 0 at idle tho.. gotta either be crappy vvt actuator, pump, screen or crappy filter/ oil.. or all of the above..

  • @gettingitdone1
    @gettingitdone1Ай бұрын

    I would definitely start with checking this pick up screen, change oil and filter at the same time. Problems are more likely to show up when the engine is hot, as the oil thins out. And lower rpm, means the oil pump isn't working as hard to pull it through.

    Mine only starts when you put fuel in the air flow inlet

  • @gettingitdone1
    @gettingitdone1Ай бұрын

    Ok so sounds like you have a fuel issue. We would test for fuel pressure in this case. Most probable cause is going to be a fuel pump, so if there's no fuel pressure, we would test for power supply at the fuel pump during cranking, if there is power and pump not running it's the pump, if there isn't power we would look at fuel pump fuse and relay. If there is fuel pressure, we would check for injector pulse, if there's no pulse we would look at fuses, relays and ecu. Scanning for codes would be a start. If you're a DIYer and can't check all of this stuff. Turn the key to the on position and see if you can hear the fuel pump run briefly. If you don't hear it, try getting someone to crank the vehicle while you bang the bottom of the fuel tank with your hand (side of a closed fist). If that makes it start, the fuel pump will be the issue.

    Ok so if you're sure this gear is not worn. Try running it up to see if this shaft spins when trying to drive. If it doesn't spin, there could be a problem in the gearbox itself. Make sure the vehicle can't drive while you do it

  • @gettingitdone1

    It is a bit trickier when they face straight down, but can still be done. Holding the pressure on the plug as you remove it becomes more important. Then you pull it out to the side. It's harder to come out completely clean on those one's but you'll still avoid a great deal of the oil. Give it a shot next time you change your oil
