  I have some unsolicited advice! The best kind, right?! So, Im an artist who used to work at a Old World style Country French kinda hand painted furniture studio & if you wanted to make those shelves look even cooler, i have an idea for you thats super easy & might be up your alley. So after the flat black you sand the black paint (you could put wax here & there on the raw wood 1st & even put another color before to create that shabby chic look). Then you make a wash of raw umber (heavy bodied paint mixed with water) & apply with a chip brush. Last, polyurethane for easy cleaning. So NICE!! (Just try on a piece of cardboard to make a sample if you don’t believe me! Love you!

  Soak all parts in hot water + vinegar :), scrub any film and you're good!
