This list has to have the Anita Blake series by Laurell K Hamilton. You will fly through these books, guaranteed 🧛♂️
Omg I am so jealous! It looks BEAUTIFUL
Great vlog, really want to visit the Amalfi coast as well eventually 😊❤
Loved this video 🎉🎉🎉
Oh wow! Pompeii is a bucket list destination for me. It's so horrible what happened there. But amazing how well preserved things seem to be.
Hi! Could you do a makeup/skincare routine??
I feel like seeing Pompeii in person would shatter my heart. I looove the white dress at the end.
For anyone who hasnt read any Marie Mistry she makes my favorite fantasy why choose romance books if not my favorite fantasy romance in general. The Deadwood series and the fith nicnivin series are my favorite
I want to get into Crescent City but I hate urban fantasy but I love SJM ahhhh
I really love the website The Most Dangerous Writing App for flow. It's a website that you set a timer, and if you stop writing for more than a few seconds it deletes all your work. Really keeps me moving and writing 😂
Ty..really helpful!
Omg best video, so happy that I found you! 🌸
Ancient fiction-Clan of The Cave Bear by Jean Auell (speculative) ;Mark Of The Lion trilogy by Francine Rivers (Christian fiction); A Pillar of Iron by Taylor Caldwell
Loved this! I just subscribed! I'm a writer too!!

Alexandra and Nicholas. The fall of the Romanovs
Thanks for the recommendations!
I loved divine rivals it’s such a lovely story, I hope you enjoy ☺️
I LOVED IT! Thanks for watching :)
I really enjoyed both Rebecca Ross' duologies you mentioned. I'm really excited to pick up The Familiar as well 🙂
Just finished Divine Rivals and loved it! Thanks for watching :)
I was a little confused when you started talking about Slaying the Vampire Conquerer being a novella. Is it possible you were thinking of Six Scorched Roses?
I’ve read both!! For some reason I thought Slaying the Vampire Conqueror was also a novella but on reflection it’s definitely more of a standalone novel! Thanks for watching ☺️
I still need to read God Killer 😩
it's sooo good! Thanks for watching :)
Really enjoyed hearing your answers. The only book I've read from your list is Yellowface and I found it so depressing, I didn't like it very much ^^' I'm looking forward to doing this tag myself - it'll be my first time! I'm currently sick with covid, so I'm in no shape to film right now, but I'm enjoying watching everybody's videos while I recover <3
oh no wishing you a speedy recovery! Thanks for watching ☺️
My Favorites are: 1. The Inadequate Heir And The Traitor Queen 2. The Ballad of Never After 3. ACOTAR and ACOSF 4. Daughter of No Worlds 5. Six Scorched Roses Will certainly check out your recommendations.
I need to read Daughter of No Worlds! Thanks for watching 😊
🎁🎁🎁🎁🎄🎄🎄🎄
thanks for watching!
Great informative video and congratulations 🎉👏
Thank you for these tips! I just started my bookish channel after revamping and trying to figure out what to do on KZread. I see other commenters started their channels too. I’m glad we can encourage one another😊
Best of luck with your channel!
@@thebookbelle thank you!!
I can so relate to the pantser challenges of getting back into the writing after a break, knowing where you plan to end up but not knowing in advance how to get there which makes the writing slower... Super impressed that your first book didn't need much editing *while being a pantser* though! I'm kind of the same with shorter pieces of writing, I can get a pretty clean first draft, but I'm working on a fantasy novel too at the moment and IT'S A MESS 🤣 Mainly because I did 1000 words of summer earlier this month and really had to push through to get the word count in. Was a fun experience though! Massive kudos for hitting 6K words in 2 days!!!! That's no small feat. Really enjoyed this video, thanks for sharing your journey. That flamingo tea box is gorgeous btw!
Thanks so much for your comment! ooh I've never heard of 1000 words of summer - will have to check it out. Thanks for watching!
Love the fae isles series from lisette marshall, for me the romance is even better than Acotar
Thanks for the recommendation!
Completely agree and rated Broadbents Novellas 5 stars. They were both amazing reads. The main storyline isn't at the same level for me.
So glad it's not just me! Thanks for watching :)
Oooh, you definitely have to read the third book in the 'His Fair Assassin' trilogy, that one was my favourite. I've also read and really enjoyed the spin-off duology.
I'm definitely keen to read it asap! Thanks for watching :)
Apart from Sarah J Maas, I don't think I had heard of any of those books! I find it fascinating to see the different styles of covers for these book and how they seem to be evolving now. Would love to see a part 2 of this video with your lowest rated romantasies!
Glad there's a few you've not heard of - I loved all of them! And yes the covers are super interesting, definitely becoming quite similar. Thanks for watching 😊
I simply could not get into Sarah J Maas! Feel like a complete outlier. However, here are some gems that don't get mentioned nearly enough - i) The War of Lost Hearts series by Carissa Broadbent, ii) The Kindred's Curse Saga by Penn Cole, iii) Rook and Rose series by M.A. Carrick, and iv) The Shepherd King duology by Rachel Gillig.
ooh thanks so much for the recommendations - will check these out! Thanks for watching 😊
Omg I was obsessed with the winner’s curse trilogy! I remember it being so fun when I read it
I’m feeling like a reread! So glad you enjoyed it too! Thanks for watching ☺️
Thank you for these recommendations! And I LOVED ACOTAR as well! :D But my fav in this series is ACOMAF
Yes ACOMAF is definitely the best in the series! Thanks for watching ☺️
So glad to see people use goodreads! Sarah J. Maas is a romantasy goddess
Thanks so much for watching! ☺️
Ahah, having a regular DND campaign is so cozy to me, I love it too :) Your job sounds very demanding indeed. I'd love to hear more about how you balance it (or try to at least) with your writing. I definitely relate to having a full-time job that takes a lot of mental energy and making it difficult to have enough left for being creative for yourself, so always keen to hear about others' experiences with this. I'm also very curious about whether your employer knows about your KZread channel, what they think of it, how you walk the line and decide on what you can show and tell about it. In any case, thanks for bringing us along, it's fascinating to get a glimpse of that part of the book business!
Thanks for your comment! My employer does know about my channel and I only really share areas of my job which are 'public' in a way - ie. that I would be happy to share on social media and aren't confidential or unprofessional for me to share! Lots of people in publishing nowadays have social media platorms/TikToks/KZread channels so it's not too strange at least ☺️ thanks for watching!
Your job sounds fascinating and it seems to be more demanding than I would have thought. Thanks for sharing this with us!
Thanks for watching! 😊
I'm really struggling to go on with Fourth Wing. The beginning is just so bad written! Is the story worth it? I am really into the big fantasies, but this one just feels like it's in the same category with Twilight within the fantasy genre. :D which is not a positive thing if you ask me!
It DEFINITELY gives me Twilight vibes too! I just think it's really good fun, not necessarily the best written/most intricate fantasy novel but a fun romantasy that I found pretty addictive! Thanks for watching :)
I love your green mushroom cardigan, where is it from?
Thank you!! It was from Zara a few years back ☺️
I still haven’t read fourth wing 😭
It’s definitely not revolutionary but is a lot of fun 😂 thanks for watching!
I feel what you were talking about at the end about feeling like you haven’t had time or headspace at the end of the week. I don’t think it’s just you or publishing (I am in accounting). It’s an ongoing process to focus on balance between work and everything else in life. Thank you for the video!
So true! Thanks for watching ☺️
This was really interesting, thank you for taking us with you 😊❤
Thanks so much for watching! ☺️
I really like the writing of Rafael Sabatini.
Thanks for the recommendation!
I am about to launch, and I have learnt so much from you, thank you. I love to share and be inspired.
Best of luck with your channel!
Cj sansom period
Yes he's great! Thanks for watching
This is so straightforward and complete. Many thanks!
So pleased it was helpful! Thanks for watching ☺️
Honestly speaking, I wish that Romantasy had its own section because it's shelved along with other authors like Sanderson and someone who reads romantasy and then goes to read Sanderson is going to experience a lot of whiplash because they might think that Romantasy is what fantasy as a whole is. At the same time, I get why they do it, because people catch a lot of flak for reading romance books. I'm intrigued by the taking off of spice scenes, BookTok, and books like Fourth Wing that took off even though (IMO) the book is terrible and it was poorly researched especially with the Scots Gaelic. I might be too biased though because as a fantasy writer, it's really easy for me to zoom in on things and criticize it that I guess others wouldn't. Idk i got to the gets-you-into-trouble-and-you-like-it-level-of-hot and put the book down because I just couldn't and if I wanted to then I would have read something on Wattpad instead. I have no problem saying that the book wasn't for me even though I love romance, fantasy, and some romantasy. 23:39 Great point. I remember reading Kresley Cole in high school (probably shouldn't have been LOL).
Really interesting points! Thanks for watching ☺️
I’ve watched so many of these videos and was surprised I learnt something new! Everyone else has been cagey on when to ‘nudge’ agents. My query letter is literally driving me crazy. Your advice on not querying too soon was the bitch slap I needed. My word count was way too high and I’ve just done a re-edit. I def queried too soon! Will stop pressuring myself so much 😂
Best of luck with your querying journey and thanks for watching! ☺️
I missed out on getting holiday in September this yr so I’m planning to get in early for next year x
It’s definitely worth it! Thanks for watching ☺️
