Engineering, should have the last say, in any future missions. To go, or not to go. Only they know the odds of success.

Hi man, I came from and comment you left on Instagram, I think you views on the challenger disaster are somewhat misguided. There's a full video by Alexander the ok - kzread.info/dash/bejne/f4ec0LmhharXeNo.html that I recommend you watch if you are interested in shuttle, especially the section on the SRBs, but I'll go over a few things here: The SRB engineers who raised the issues before the launch made their recommendations to NASA engineers, the idea they were pitching this to management that were more interested in the politics of the situation is wrong. The evidence presented to NASA was limited and went against the previously recommended procedure, was well as not being unanimously supported by engineers. Testing data on the O-rings did show erosion resistance down to 30 degrees F. Consensus was reached by the SRB Engineers that the launch could go ahead, the were not shut down by higher ups as some claim The ambient temp on launch was 38 degrees F. Of course that is not to say that the challenger disaster could not have been prevented, but i think you're video is somewhat of a misrepresentation. That being said the production quality of your video is very good, I enjoyed it.

Thank you very much! I appreciate the accuracy of your comment. This is a hybrid-documentary. Part fiction, part non-fiction. The archival footage is the non-fiction aspect, while the voice over is entirely a work of fiction. Dramatized based on the relatively fuzzy truth of the matter. My intention with this film was never to achieve 100% accuracy. It was more so to transpire the feelings that must've been endured by all the ones who knew beforehand, and all the ones who played a part in the creation of this rocket. I mainly wanted to capture that gut-wrenching guilt that must've been felt by so many people. From the very inception of this project, I was aware I'd have to sacrifice some accuracy to truly achieve that. I tried my best to remain truthful where it was absolutely necessary, but not be opposed to remaining vague and purely emotional at other points. I made sure no names were mentioned, as I would never intend to paint anyone poorly. I apologize if that effect was present for you. Thank you again for your comment!

That's heartbreaking because there's no excuse why they would be that ignorant to just ignore all the experts! You know every single inch of the bird so they should have jumped at whatever you said.

I will start a conversation, with a few simple questions. I don't know what back-end, plugins/extensions, or UI interfaces you're using, so please pardon any faux paus... 1. What influenced the aspect ratio? Modern films are 16:9, so I'm curious around technical limitations that may have guided this choice. 2. The resolution is max 720p. Another technical limitation? For my works, all rendered at minimum 1080p, take a really really long time to generate, even using an RTX 4090. Maybe the same situation for this film? 3. Are there any technical papers on the AI Composite Animation process you're using? 4. There are typical film/video production techniques that don't need AI, such as clip transitions. Are you attempting to avoid these to be completely 100% AI generated? 5. How do you plan to deal with 'artifacts'? * I'm truly interested in serious productive dialog, and hopefully these comments/questions do not come across as overly critical or hateful in any way whatsoever. Otherwise, I think this is a great effort and definitely the future. Hollywood is shaking right now...

I really appreciate this comment! I will do my best to answer these questions with the same quality that you've presented them. 1: I decided to go with an aspect ratio of 1:1 (1080x1080) to speed up the render process. So it is more of a technical limitation than an artistic decision. Rendering at something like 1920x1080 took far more time and even made certain, more complex, shots impossible to render. By "complex" I mean too many colors or too much movement, from my experience too much of either of those can overwhelm the AI render. 2: The resolution being 720p is a KZread limitation, not actually the intended resolution. I rendered the film at 1080x1080, so I actually don't have an answer for why KZread decide to make it 720p (it might be because I decided to do a live premiere). 3: A paper on AI Composite Animation will be posted on belkmedia.com/news in the near future yes. 4: Yes the intention with this film is to use AI from beginning to end, and I'm sure that I have not yet explored all capabilities of AI in the context of this workflow, but I know that with time and as I continue to use it for different projects/purposes I will come across discoveries. 5: I actually embrace the artifacts produced by the AI process. My goal was never to create "realistic" visuals, I love the way the AI tends to mesh and mold visuals. For me, things like a subtle flicker is okay. My goal was to make a film with AI, and I accept the certain visual characteristics that come as a side effect of that. I've just posted a very quick video across my socials, that briefly goes into the AI composite animation workflow. You can check that out if you haven't already. Thank you again for asking your questions and thank you for you kind words. I like how you put it "a great effort", that is exactly how I like to think of it. This is just a step towards true AI filmmaking. I know this is no where near as far as it can go, but this is an effort in that direction. I have another film currently in production that uses this same process but with some advancements, such as AI generated 3D models + live action actors being composited into the world of the film. Teaser for that film is also posted on my Instagram.

@@brandonparadise Thanks for taking the time to reply. I am waiting, not as patiently as I would like, for that paper to be published. LOL I'm skeptical that AI should ever need to replace other more traditional video editing software/techniques for simple things like scene transitions. Most high-end media productions utilize numerous tools, each having their own strengths and weaknesses. What I do envision, is having complex workflows that integrate these tools more seamlessly. I, too, like to take advantage of AI artifacts and hallucinations. They are what make my work unique and possess a quality that only AI can produce. Given your presumably extensive background in film (as gleaned from your YT channel, and arguably much more extensive background than myself) I would absolutely accept any feedback you might offer. My most recent published video (Bluetech - Rite Of The Dragonfly 4K) is by far my best work in my own opinion. I hope you're willing and have time to check it out. I'm also pleased my words were interpreted as meant. Constructive feedback should never be unsolicited, IMHO. Thanks again for engaging with me!

I never initially intended for the story to have this unsettling feel, but as I continued to make the project it dipped deeper and deeper into that vibe. It definitely works for the film though, considering the events that will take place next in the story…
