  Regional jets get a bad rap but I think the airlines should fly MORE of them. Less passengers, means a greater standard of service, you aren't crammed in with hundreds of other people and the planes aren't having the troubles that the larger jets are having ; doors blowing out, tires falling off, engine cowlings exploding, or rogue computer controls trying to crash the plane (MCAS). If the manufacturer finds a way to build these jets to go long distances, I really believe that it would bring back the fun, comfort and adventure that flying once was. That is why before Deregulation, the local, or regional carriers had style and personality that left their passengers feeling like they had fun and the flight was memorable. Let's get back to that !!!! And frankly, I wouldn't mind if the BAE-146 came back into production. I loved that little cutie and felt that it never reached it's full potential.

  I see a lot more cars than Crossovers and suvs. I would say around 2015-16 is when the streets were flooding with them. This took me back, thank you

  Close. N774UA was their first, also being delivered in March of 1996. N774UA was also the 2nd-ever 777 ever built! N775UA was Line Number 22 and N776UA, the plane I was on, rolled out as #27.

  @@retokurmann3 Very cool. Thanks for the info. I remember when United was flying it around and showing it off. I was standing in line to see the 777 at SFO and I happened to be standing behind a guy who had just won $16 million dollars in the lottery a week before. It might have been this aircraft. It must have been this aircraft since I bid out of SFO in June of '96.

  @@rael5469 Wow, what a cool story - thank you for sharing! Let's agree on that it was likely one of the 3 aircraft I have mentioned. Usually the first delivered aircraft gets used for promotional stuff like that. And $16m certainly got this guy many, many 777 flights;)

  @@retokurmann3 We called him the $16 million dollar man, after the TV show. He hired in the same group as me. He was in the pipeline to become an airline pilot. Nice guy. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

  Als ich am 20. Januar am frühen Morgen in Bangkok die Treppe zum Einstieg in unsere 77W von Qatar Airways stieg, stand am Gate neben uns die 787-9 von AC. Kam aus Vancouver. Flugzeit 16:45 h. Ich frage mich wirklich wer sich das freiwillig antut. Die 787 ist wahrlich kein Masterpiece in der langen ruhmreichen Geschichte von Boeing. Die 777 war ihr letzter großer Wurf. Alles was danach kam war von minderer Qualität und dem Zwang der Reduzierung der Stückkosten geprägt. Das sieht man an der 787 extrem...

  😅 Wer hat denn da auf den inboard flap LAX draufgeschrieben. Ich würde sehr viel geben um nochmal mit der 757 zu fliegen, bevor sie ganz verschwunden ist. Delta ist immer ok, die warten ihre Jets sehr gut.

  Ah, interessant. Bin gerade am buchen und auf einigen Seat Maps wird diese Reihe als 'rot' makiert weil es dort laut (wegen Küche und WC's) sein soll und halt der Sitz nicht verstellbar sein soll. Ansonsten sieht er da in der Ecke recht gemütlich in deinem Video und die Aussicht ist auch optimal.@@retokurmann3

  Die 777 ist so oder so eine Dröhnröhre und die gesamte LX Economy auf diesem Flugzeug eine Zumutung aufgrund der engen Schulter-an-Schulter-Sitze, die zudem noch hart gepolstert sind. Da spielt's dann auch keine Rolle mehr, ob man neben einem WC ist, vor allem nicht auf einem 12-Std-Tagflug wie dem Kurs nach LAX. Solche Eggeli-Sitzplätze sind die am wenigsten schlechte Option, man kann sich da einigermassen einrichten mit Kissen etc und hat keinen störenden Hintermann. Richtung USA zudem immer rechts sitzen, da die Sonne immer von links in die Kabine brennt. Rechts kann man die Aussicht geniessen und das Fenster heizt sich nicht unangenehm auf.
