I am really interested in learning more about your class and how Montessori works in elementary, but i spent the whole video looking at your floor. I have no idea what your room looks like or what you were trying to explain. I don't mean to be unkind, I want to understand!

Do you teach year round? I love that you rearranged things with the kids. It sounds like they got to be a part of the decision! That's awesome! New sub here! :) :)

So they read the fly leaf book and at the end of the week they complete a work page about it?
@partsofthelanguagellc8 ай бұрын
I have to see where the new student is in reading, so they read a few different Flyleaf Publishing books to me. All students: Each day they read the book that they are on and complete one page of the reading work packet. Typically, there are four pages, but as the books/work gets more challenging, there are five days. The more challenging work actually lists the Day 1, Day 2, etc. on the pages, but the first set of books do not, so the students know to complete one page a day. If they do not have it all complete by Friday, they know they need to complete it. The next week, they start the next book in the series.

I can have up to 18-24 students, but this year I now have 14. I started the year with 13 and then it went to 12 and now it is up to 14.

I work in a school that is not Montessori but I love so many of the elements of this style. How do you guys get the activity cards that sit on your shelves for each subject matter?
@partsofthelanguagellc Жыл бұрын
Hi! Almost all the works on the shelves are materials from Montessori companies. There are command cards (activity cards) for each area. Most of those came from the disk from my training. I have some free cards I have made if you visit montessori-resources.teachery.co/montessori-resources . Thank you!

What curriculum do you use?
@partsofthelanguagellc Жыл бұрын
Hi! It is Montessori, so I follow the Montessori Method, which follows Scope and Sequences. I made my own Scope and Sequence for Lower Elementary, but since it was a fluke that I was teaching Early Childhood/Kindergarten, I do not have my own scope and sequence for that. I hope that answers you question! Thanks.

Thank you! Early Childhood is amazing! I will definitely miss the pink tower. The students absorb so much during 3-6 and progress so fast! Setting up the environment is one of the best parts of teaching Montessori! Best wishes for a great school year!
