The single biggest reason for DBD's horrible balancing issue that has persists even 8 years since its release is that the Devs (BHVR) had and ALWAYS will only balance their game based on statistics instead of actual player's experience. Just look, the strongest killer of the game, and has been so since the game's release. Is the same one that has the lowest kill rate out of all killers.

i always found the best way to play this game was in a custom game with 5 of your friends, one on killer, all in the same voice channel. prevents assholeisms and most of the problems that survive with friends brought with it. plus it was just super fun

One of the most toxic moment in dbd is when playing against bully squads when theres a newly introduced patch bug. One of the best moments in DBD is when you bleed out bug using bully squads. 🥰

Dead by daylight is in a way better state then before Myers was added I tried the game way back then and hated the game it felt like how multiverses feels now like the game was going nowhere and there was nothing to learn past the early game I came back recently and have been taking the time to learn what the full game looks like and it’s great the amount of perks to play with gives a lot more variety in what was lacking and the random nature of having so many different things to think about coming into a game it’s actually a valuable game at this point in my opinion

Tbf dbd is becoming more abd more balanced with every update (not always) but it will never be perfectly balanced because not only is it impossible but also not fun. To the people saying this game is toxic and garbage I want to say that every single game with even the smallest capability to insult others will be toxic and if the game was actually garbage noone would play it. Even tho I agree that dbd devs are not good at balancing the game they learn from their mistakes. Which is why most things pointed out in this video happened years ago.

As a dbd player, I completely agree that it's balance is chaotic at best. The devs don't listen and also don't seem to play their game. However, on top of a massive staff change halfway through it's current life, they've gotten better at making things more fun. Also, the one thing I have not seen anybody point out about this matter is that dbd( and any asymmetrical game) could never begin to be compared to other games when talking about balance. It's a party game. Asymmetrical games can never be viable for competitive playstyle without certain rules based on fairness. Overall, I believe dbd is currently in its most 'balanced' state. Or rather the perks, killers, and base mechanics feel the most in tandem they ever have. However, (I know there is a competitive scene, and play how you want) the less you take this game seriously, the more fun you'll have. I don't recommend this game to people who aren't fond of taking time to understand the game better, practicing moderation or apathy, or playing a but not to always win. I genuinely think it's one of those games that you'll never truly undertsand until you play it for a while. Extra note: to anyone who thinks dbd is even one of the most, much less top 5 toxic communities. You either don't play it, or haven't played enough and just take the bad things. It's already not comparable to other games in terms of teams and balance, but from my experience and if you ask anybody that has stayed with the game these past 8 years, you wouldn't even think this community is up there in toxicity. Every game/ community has toxic people. But statistically, dbd has one of the least toxic communities I've been a part of. Give me any game that is as big or bigger than this and I assure you the toxicity is far more than this game that doesn't even have voice chat. (Which he mentioned in the video, but nobody really thinks about these points and how they connect to what they say) but that's just youtube comments. I played since legacy-times and never understood why they'd pumping out continiously new killers instead of ever balancing perks or existing killers. Instead mess started to piling up and completely ruined the og dbd feeling, which I loved back then.

As much as the guide say "Shoot the leg" the Goddamn fog that blocked vision beyond 2 meters is making it way harder to shoot any of the charger body when the only time you could see it is when it's 1 second away from ramming you, it took me 4 EAT to kill one since I keep shooting rock because of the damn fog on some planet

I know you said that it alternated between survivors being OP and killers being OP, but I think one key difference between them is this: Killers were made to be OP as counters to Survivors, but that was mostly baked into their kits, not their perks (barring Ruin and NOED). The problem is that SURVIVORS got OP through PERKS, which were universal. Almost no killer perks remained OP. The simple fact Boons can be REACTIVATED is testament to the fact this game has always been survivor-favored. If a Killer isn’t hardcoded to counter survivor perks, it will inevitably fall into low tier.
