    Do people forget that there are TWO judgement seats? The Judgement Seat of Christ (the first) and the Great White Thrown Judgement (the 2nd). You WANT to be at the Judgement Seat of Christ becasue that means you are saved. But you will still be judged based on your works for Christ. Your faith will not save you from God's judgement at the Judgement Seat of Christ because your faith is what got you there in the first place. 2 Corinthians 5:10 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Just going on a rant here. I get tired of people quoting James 2:19-20 out of context. 19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. 20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? If you look just a few verses above at James 2:12 (KJV) you see: So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty. Notice how it says the law of liberty, NOT the law of Moses. Born again believers will be judged based on the law of liberty since we have been freed from sin when we placed our faith in Christ alone. That's why we SHOULD do good works, not to be saved, but BECAUSE we ARE saved. But that is not a REQUIREMENT to be saved. Unbelievers will be judged based on the law of Moses which they will be condemned, becasue WE ALL have transgressed the law of Moses, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" (Romans 3:23). That's why we need Jesus Christ in the first place. Another example here: 1 Corinthians 3:13-15 13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be SAVED; yet so as by fire. It just saddens me becasue there are true born again believers that lose the joy of their salvation becasue false doctrine tries to force them back under the law and intermingle justification with the Christian walk. Once you are saved you are ETERNALLY secured.

    I don’t think Sam is saying baptism alone saves you. I think he’s saying if you truly believe in Jesus Christ and are his disciple you’ll get baptised. So I’m curious. What are the arguments against getting baptised? Whether it actually saves remains to be seen but why would a self confessed Christian not want to be baptised if you haven’t been before? Jesus got baptised at 30 after a lifetime of perfection in the eyes of the Lord in a lifetime where he grew in wisdom and favour with God. I think once you truly believe in your heart that Jesus died and rose again for you and become his disciple you’ll do as he did. He got baptised. If you read the book of acts after someone hearing the gospel and believing it was almost always followed by a baptism. Our Lord and saviour commanded the disciples in the great commission to teach others all he commanded them and to baptised them. Im genuinely asking, is there some biblical reason why someone who has the ability to be baptised would not?

    Respectfully, it seems like we are zeroing in on the “repentance” part of Peter’s command, and doing away with what he says about baptism by running off to other texts and saying “therefore it can’t mean baptism saves”. This does not do justice to what Peter actually said. Peter says “repent and be baptized into the remission of sins.” In his first letter, he flat out says “baptism saves you”. If God has said in plain language in his word that baptism saves, along with giving us other passages in the New Testament that confirm this, there is no reason for us to wrestle these texts to mean otherwise.

    You’re misinterpreting a handful of passages pertaining to baptism while disregarding SCORES of clear verses concerning salvation through faith alone. 1 Peter 3:21 doesn’t substantiate your position: kzread.info/dash/bejne/Z2F9sbWEZc29lJc.htmlfeature=shared

    @@OnoDiamante thank you for sending that - watched it. 1 Peter 3:21 states that baptism IS that appeal to God. Peter does say it is not the flesh being cleaned that saves us, but it is what baptism does to the conscience. In other words, it is saying that through baptism, we can have a clean conscience towards God. I have a very hard time believing Peter would say “baptism saves” if that is not what he meant. I respectfully disagree that I am ignoring the passages that speak about salvation through faith. I am just taking the baptism passages as they stand, and am not trying to take away from what they say based on other passages that are talking about faith.

    @@Hopmeister96 How were people saved prior to water baptism?

  • @Hopmeister96
    @Hopmeister962 сағат бұрын

    @@OnoDiamante The fact that people were saved by faith in Christ before Christ instituted baptism doesn’t nullify what the New Testament says baptism does. I think the issue here is that you are pitting faith against baptism, as though baptism were some sort of meritorious work. The Bible simply doesn’t pit the two against each other in this way. Peter says “repent and be baptized into the remission of sins.” A plain reading of this passage reveals that Peter prescribed baptism as a legitimate part of the answer to the question “what must we do to be saved?” That doesn’t mean it’s a work that is an absolute necessity to perform or else we can’t be saved.

  • @OnoDiamante

    @@Hopmeister96 1.) The Bible tells us that David (lived under law) and Abraham (lived before law) were both saved through faith to the exclusion of works (Romans 4). So your position is that prior to water baptism, salvation was through faith alone, and now it’s through faith + water baptism? 2.) Water Baptism is a work of righteousness and therefore not necessary for salvation (compare Matthew 3:15 with Titus 3:5). Do you consider circumcision a work? 3.) The question wasn’t “what must we do to be saved?”, but rather, “what shall we do?” The only appropriate and acceptable response to “what must I do to be saved?” is “believe on the Lord Jesus Christ” (Acts 16:30-31).

    Look at the footnotes "or BELIEVE". Sam will do ANYTHING to make himself out to b smarter than God even. He should spend some time with Moses who is said to be "a very humble man" Num.12:3. Many translations have meek but meek and humble in this narrative are interchangeable. Just like believes and obey here. The KJV doesn't have obey it says that believeth not. I mean WHY would u OBEY something that u didn't BELIEVE. Again READ the Entire narrative Sam. It's OBVIOUS to a blind man that Jesus is talking about being born again to Nicodemus. U pull ONE verse out of the narrative so u can TRY to make IT SUPPORT UR interpretation REGUARDLESS of what the narrative ACTUALLY says. U make being a believer MUCH harder than it should be. TRUST AND OBEY. They go hand in hand THROUGH OUT THE BIBLE. Just read UR bible. Remember the word says the Holy Spirit will lead u into ALL TRUTH. And Holy Spirit here and ANYWHERE else in scripture DOESNT mean SAM. He just said if u don't believe then u won't obey, DUH. Also if we don't OBEY then according to Sam that means we don't BELIEVE. If we don't believe then ur NOT A BELIEVER, so according to his interpretation of this text if u don't OBEY, then u don't BELIEVE which in turn means ur STILL IN UR SINS. So if ur a believer but u disobey God according to SAM'S interpretation U R NOT SAVED and most probably going to hell. Now John said in 1 John 1:8 that if we say we have NO SIN, we LIE and the truth us not in us. So along with Sam's interpretation of ONE verse and the obvious interpretation of 1John 1:8 when we OBEY God we r believers. But we sin. So if u DISOBEY God then u DONT believe so we r to spend the rest of our lives playing musical chair salvation. One minute ur saved but if u DISOBEY then u don't BELIEVE so at that moment ur no longer saved. But that interpretation doesn't stand very well next to 1John 5:13. So sence the Bible tells me I WILL NOT be SINLESS in this life then its OBVIOUS there will b times when we disobey God but ur still a BELIEVER. NOWHERE does the Bible say that u can LOSE UR SALVATION by SINNING, which IS DISOBEYING GOD. I mean again according to Sam's interpretation he must have marked out 1John1:9 because he apparently doesn't have ANY sins to repent of. God bless y'all.

    What about repentance? Of course, belief (trust) is necessary bit so is repentance. Matt. 4:17 "From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Mark 1:15 "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.” Luke 13:3 "I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish." Many other verses refer to repentance as a requirement for salvation. Here are a few more: Mark 6:12. Luke 5:32, 15:7, 24:47, Acts 3:19. There are many more verses that says repentance is a requirement for salvation. Repent and believe.

    @@OnoDiamante You have the concept correct but you misunderstand the word "repentance" or "repent." The greek word for repent means "turn." Thus it is not just turning away from a sin, but turning away from a lifestyle of sin. You can call it a "change of mind" which is basically turning away from a lifestyle of sin through the power of the Holy Spirit. We agree that repentance is required for salvation, but you didn't refer to it in this video which may be the only video someone sees about how to be saved.

    If you could lose your salvation you would already lose it daily from your sins Considering how Sam shouman disrespects his opponents and does not show kindness to his enemies would mean he would lose his salvation everytime he sinned by doing that. Sam doesn't keep his salvation, God does it. Salvation is Eternal in Christ.

    I agree with Sam. We must remain faithful to Christ and not turn away. We must be keeping in repentance as John the Baptist taught! We will always have Free will. We can choose to deny Christ even after salvation. We are susceptible to deception which is warned by all the apostles and especially Jesus! For the elect, they will never walk away, and I believe in eternal security, but for the lukewarm, or those who profess faith in Christ, but fall away (parable of the seed sower) we have free will to choose at all times! This is why Christ says to deny yourself and follow him (daily) John 15 also! We can't lose our salvation, but we can choose to walk away from it. It's your choice as I have seen spirit filled people choose to go woke and follow doctrines taught by demons and even some lose faith from tragedy. You can say they never were saved, but scriptures do say that whosoever calls upon the name shall be saved! But whosever denies shall be cut off! I believe in freewill for all time!
