Why is my name CreekCat? Not only is it catchy, but I use to do field work where I collect water samples from streams and creeks. I was up and down and in and out of creeks all the time. Next, I'm Native American and I'm a citizen of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation. Colonizers called us Creeks because our towns were established beside creeks and rivers in the Southeastern U.S. We've dropped using Creeks since our real name is Muscogee or Mvskoke (our spelling). Lastly, why cat? Haha, because I love cats pretty much more than anything in the world and my first memories is of me chasing cats when I was still a toddler. I still chase cats.

I am NEW NEW NEW to rollerskating - like I just had my first lesson in rental skates yesterday new LOL. And I've been trying to decide on which skate to get for a longgggg time, and today I narrowed it down between Jackson Vista and Chaya Elite, so your review has been very helpful! thank you! :) I still haven't fully decided buttttt, I'm probably going to go with the Jacksons this time - mainly because I figure skate in Jacksons so I'm already familiar with them & love them. But I may purchase some Chayas in the future or invest in a suede brand like Chuffed!
Cool! You will love either one of them but I especially love those Atom Pulse Wheels (outdoor wheels) that come with the Jacksons. The Chayas are better quality material and more comfortable but you will love the Jacksons. Have fun!
Hi are you on Instagram?
Hey it's José your grandson. This is crazy, this is ridiculous, but it's cool. OMG grandma is on KZread.
Yep, grandma rollerskates AND on KZread. Crazy, ennit José? Let's roll!
EU size for Chaya is most accurate and relacing will completely make a difference.
I have noticed my size is different for the flats (jump 2) EU 39 to the heel EU 37
My chaya purple evil is gonna come to my home in the next 2 days! I bought these because I live in small village where there are no roller rink, skatepark, or indoor space to play! So I think a fun outdoor cruise gonna be fun. Dont u think so? Watching ur reviews, makes me truly excited I got the perfect pair! Cant waittt omg!! 😍❤
Ohhh, how exciting. You should have them now. Let me know how you like them. These are fantastic skates! Have fun and keep rolling.
How was the sizing? Was it accurate to your shoe size? Do I need to buy a size down to fit?
Do not buy a size down! I wear and 8 1/2 U.S. sizing and I cam comfortable in the EU 40 with Chayas. If anything, size up.
@@CreekCat1 Thank you!
Chaya Rental Quad Roller Skates are black leather with yellow orche suede
"Awesome review and big ups for getting started again! I'll definitely look into these. Thanks for sharing!"
And a video of all cute Accessories you can put on your quad skates ❤❤ also a video on skating 101 for beginners quad skating and also the easiest moves you can do.❤❤❤❤
Can you please do a video on how to lace them properly ❤
I love your reviews! I started skating again too at 49. I’ll be 50 next month. I’ve never had so much fun! I’m currently in a Riedell 297, but wanted pick up another Skate to have a dedicated pair the rink so I don’t have to keep changing wheels. I’m considering the Chaya Melrose Elite Purple Evil, which brought to your channel. ❤
I'm thinking about getting these. Are they true to size? I'm a UK 4 and not sure if I should go for the UK 4.5.
Same as myself, have to order online not sure on sizing im a uk 6
Hi! If I understood correctly, your Chayas game with a bolt on toe stopper and you changed it for an adjustable one, is that correct?
No, the Chaya Ruby Red Deluxe come with a bolt on stopper. I think they are upgrading their deluxe models. I also have the Chaya Elite Purple Evil and it has the type of stopper that uses a Allen wrench to adjust, which is an upgrade from the bolt on. But I love my Chaya Ruby Reds and the bolt on is great.
Curious why you didn’t go with Moxi skates as your first buy. With all of the reviews I’ve been watching I keep hearing how the Moxi Beach Bunny style is great for beginners because of the ankle support! I’m like you with doing a ton of research before making any purchase. I’m between the Chaya and Moxi Beach Bunny!
The Beach Bunnies look like they are made of cheap material. That is one reason. The other is I kept reading that the Moxies tend to work better for narrow feet. The more I looked at Moxie's the more I thought they are far overhyped. I also didn't like that the boot on the Lolly's is not firm. I think they got popular with younger people and the hype carried them.
Thank you for the great review. I also watched the Indy Jamma Jones review, which was great. I have a pair of Chaya Melrose Deluxe skates coming this week! Again, thank you for the awesome review!
So beautiful!
Lovely video, thank you! I saw you have another video about the purple chayas and will watch them as well
They ARE pretty! And I’m an Amethyst baby.
Precious kitty!
I lost Reggie to cancer in December 2022. Damn, I miss this cat. Thank you for responding.
@@CreekCat1 💔
I’m eyeballing these now! So confused and so this helps.
I did a review on these too. Love these over my moxies. The heel has a cushion in it. That’s what the piece is
Ohhhh! Thank you, LOL. I just didn't know. I can't tell the difference in the heel from my Ruby Red Deluxes.
Watched your review also, thank you both for reviewing, I have decided to buy Chayas, like to research a lot and this is very helpful! Thanks girls 😊
@@orls9068 glad I could help 😀
You can put a softer or harder cushion in from the video I watched from Chaya. I am guessing the medium cushion they leave in feels the same as the ruby deluxe based on your comment. Thanks for the review.
@@seuny I put soft ones in and they are much better
How good are they on concrete..did you have to adjust them before skating
I don't have anything to compare the Chaya 62mm 78A wheels with other than the wheels I have for rink skating. Mine roll great on concrete and I've skated on asphalt. The asphalt, of course, is a lot rougher surface but on the trail I use they work great. They are great on tennis courts, too. I did adjust my trucks. I loosened them so the so when I lean into the edges for turns it's easier. I think that is personal preference. The wheels spin out the box but, if not. then a 1/4 turn until you adjust them to your liking. Let me know how you like them after you've skated for a bit. :)
how do they fit
True to size for me. Chaya says the EU size 40 is equivalent to 8.5 American. I have plenty of toe room and the boot is super comfortable. The boot has thick padding and I like that.
@@CreekCat1 thankyou
Mine were delivered today the 40 fits ..I also ordered the 39.the tip.of my toes press against the boot ..too small..they are very comfortable i was getting practice in the house..i got the cobalt blue
@@rsdenimblues8342 Yeah! I hope you love yours as much as I love mine. Roll on!
@RS DENIM BLUES HI, may I ask which is your normal shoe size, please? I'm 40EU and I don't know which one to buy 41 or 42EU. Thank you
The Starry Nights are black. Although they are the deluxe range, they do come with the adj toe stop so you could try those 😁
True! The Starry Nights are black and Chaya has a black dance skate. I don't like the way that one looks from looking online. I wish they would make a black suede Melrose Elite and a black Premium. That would be cool.
@@CreekCat1That would be really nice 🙂
@@CreekCat1I would love a black pair!
Love them so much 😊
Which Chaya's do you have?
So pretty
What a great review thanks so much! I was looking at these exact skates but also considering Jackson Vistas, and Suregrip Boardwalks. There are ups and downs to all 3 but this video has me leaning more toward the Chayas. I love that there isn't a break in period like the Suregrips have and the kingpin isn't as long at the Jackson's which apparently gets caught on debris. I really think I'm gonna go for it!! Can't wait!! :)
Whatever you decide to buy let me know how you like them. I want a pair of black suede skates. I was looking at the Jackson Vista Viper, Moxie Panther ( I love their look), and Crazy Evoke. It's darn hard to buy without trying on. Every foot is different.
Hello. I need to know where u got your kitty print mug!! PLS I. Need. It.🥺
Target!
with your ankle history, is there any reason you wouldn't get the premiums? I've been thinking about those, but I just got out of a wheelchair so my ankle joints are a bit weak and i worry about the low back on them compromising the stability. thank you for this review and your hair is so beautiful!!<3
I haven't tried the premiums but I also noticed the boot is a lower cut. I would have to try them on and test them. But, the ladies at Volition Skates love the premiums. I bought the Chaya Melrose Elite Purple Evil and will do a review on them, too. They are more like the my red Chaya's but have a 20 degree angle kingpin and are micro suede. It's a nice skate! I put indoor wheels on them for rink skating. Check out the ladies at Volition and their review on the premiums. They are a small operation so you can chat online with them or call them with your questions. Enjoy skating and keep rolling! Get well! :) Here is Volition's review. www.volitionskate.com/blogs/roller-skate-tips-and-reviews/chaya-melrose-premium
Also, thank you for the compliment on my hair!
I have been looking for a review for these, I will get my second pair of skates and I truly want to get Chaya for rink skating (since moxi ones I have is not very adaptable for me) so thank you for your review!!💙
I love my Chaya's and now have two pair. The wheels are great but you may want to get a harder wheel for regular rink skating. I have some Roller bones 98A wheels which I'm going to put on my new Chaya Purple Evil Elites and use those for rink and learning to dance skate even though my Ruby Reds have been great at the rink. The wheels are a little too soft/gummy to go very fast at the rink. :)
I love your review. I have the Chaya melrose Red skates also. I changed the cushions which is 92 hardness which for my body type is to hard so I put 72 on. I also charged the wheels for inside the rink to roll-line 92a Fox. I just started back skating this year after a 60 year break. I’m in my 70’s I love skating I go twice a week to the rink. I learning the crazy legs now. I which I could get more older people to come out to skate. Keep rolling
That's so cool! Yes, we need to have all ages skating. There are some in my age group at the rink I go to and one of them is 77 years old. I think we need more attention on ageless skaters!
