  Brakes all the way. In road course racing, off throttle coasting time, is lost time. You’re either on the throttle or brake at all times

  You coudlnt really go faster, not enough traction to accommodate more power. But it feels faster than it looks on this video. You def get a little more speed if you don’t slide as much too.

  I know that objectively the traction sucks, but the way these karts promote neutral steer makes Andretti a lot more fun than Octane, IMO.

  It’s been a long time since I’ve been to octane but It’s been even longer since I had as much fun at octane as I did at Andretti this last weekend. When it was F1 race factory I think it used to be a lot more fun but maybe that’s because I was younger. I think they should def make some of the younger kids race the slow karts first if they haven’t gone yet though. There was a kid that was going maybe a walking pace the entire race. Not only did it ruin the experience but it was kinda dangerous.

  @@icebox829this is the main issue I have with going to Andretti. EVERYONE ignores the blue flags and they really don’t do anything about it. Then you get in trouble for bumping when you’re just trying to get past an erratic driver.

  Hey Diego, i see the different tracks you go to, you're obviously a good driver, fast, and I wonder about how you cope with slower venues? I get it about catching and overtaking, being about driving skills, but i get frustrated when the karts aren't fast enough to need brakes. I come from 2cycle days, and find outdoor traks are the best. What i like about indoor tracks,is the quickness that things happen. My favorites are, Sykart Tukwila, PGP Park, Olympic Grand Prix at The Ridge, and Pats acres in Aurora, Or.

  Appreciate the kind words! Majority of the indoor kart tracks, all use the same sodi or otl karts. So they’re essentially all the same max speeds. But ofcourse when it comes to electric, they tend to die and degrade a lot over time, so you’ll sometimes go to a facility where the kart may be fully charged but it lasts maybe 50% of their race distance. Other than stopping and asking for a kart swap, there’s really nothing you can do. I’m fortunate to do a lot of traveling and have been to a lot of different karting facilities. At the end of the day, I’m there for fun and sometimes just too lazy to ask for a kart swap, so I’ll just deal with it because I know I’m probably never going to go back to that facility. I like to check em out once and even if I go back to that city; I’ll take the time to explore other things that the city/town has to offer.

  I went yesterday with my 10 year old. He did the Jr Racing Class. He was lapping in 92 sec and I lapped in 83 secs. I haven't been to any better track yet. It is so much fun.

  I went here during rolex 24. Wasn't too impressed how the karts are. Seems like they limit you in certain sections. And the boost doesn't work

  They definitely limit in the fast sections prolly regular people don’t just so straight off full speed into a corner like the last downhill section before the start finish

  As far as I know, you won’t be able to run any racing series in the harbor freight motor. Only 4 stroke leagues on SoCal are the Briggs and Stratton lo206 and the tillotson 212

  I go to this place like ever 3,4 months and best time was almost exactly 25 seconds. Even though I'm young I know how to control those 600lbs karts Here's a bit of advice, be loose and don't make the tires squeal

  Update: current track record is 36.299. They did some work on the transition at the bottom of the big downhill and there's no traction right now. If they can restore it to the conditions we had on 4/3 then I'm confident there's still time to be saved. If not, I think they'll need to reset the leaderboard as I don't believe 36.299 is attainable anymore.
