    I found the alignment tabs on a new diaphragm repair kit were not quite vertical. This caused the magnet to be misaligned/sloped. The resulting vibration destroyed the switch such that it was locked on and went on and disintegrated the new diaphragms and bellows. Bits of plastic everywhere.

    old video but worth a shot. my installers screwed up 17 years ago and issues since. the 1.25 pvc comes in riser almost at tank level with a typical elbow box. Flooding during heavy rains so all the switches and pump wired there. I am adding an elbow and bring the box near top since difficult to seal 4 sets of wires into this WP lidded box. I am trying to run buried flex conduit for pump, probably use 12/2. The floats, probably use TW wire but see other shielded stranded wire a fraction of the 20' needed, so 120' for all 6 wires. Would I be OK running waterproofed similar wires to the floats probably 14G 15 amp?

    @@wholesalesepticsupply9801 I got 25' of Gear It SJOOW 12/3 power cable. Sturdy water proof durable wire. Running 14 THWN for 3 floats, that is what, well, THHN, now. Since the D elbow hole is almost directly at tank opening I an running all new wires to new box as well as using 1" 90s and a 45 to mount a waterproof box on riser wall. All connections watertight not. Currently is 14 wire and I see Romex. Since the D box was co stantly looded no wonder the floats were always messed up and fried my Norweco box. The only.reason my pump lasted was when I replaced it I used the waterproofing nuts with self fuse tape. so the pump and on off float could withstand being submerged for days. I have to blow out the 1" but unless a super flood all com.ections should wothstand a bit of flooding. I gotta say the air pump conversion is amazing. Got a whirlwind. I got a flat riser lid and it sits on top. added an elbow for spa tubing can drop straight down bit. OMG the smells almost disappeared when sprinklers go on. The old shafts can't compare plus if it floods the aerator will.still diffuse and not blow and tear up bearings. Been watching the float set ups and I may keep the float where it is but lower the override and set the alarm just before the inlet pipe. That should alert me that the water level is almost at the bio filter outlet. I am definitely taking that class to do own servicing and reporting to the county. I nearly.rebuilt an entire septic mechanically. Thanks for these videos. They really do help. Septic companies gotta eat too but 700 for wiring a new box, 30p for bio fter clean, 100 per float These cost can kill a person financially.

    @@wholesalesepticsupply9801 Thanks for the response! We have recently discovered that our WEEKLY cleaners were cleaning showers/toilets/bathtubs with chlorine bleach. About 5-8 cups worth of bleach each week. So our tank was getting 20-30 cups of bleach per month since March. We have since gotten our tank pumped (2 weeks ago), and were advised to add baking soda to the septic (which neutralizes the bleach) and are also adding weekly commercial septic bacteria compound to the tank. The cleaners did come once before we put two and two together. The company we purchased the commercial septic bacteria from said for 5-8cups of bleach could take 6-8 weeks to rebalance the tank, Right now we are just being patient and going 100% bleach free for the 6-8 weeks to see if we see (or smell) any improvements.

    @@IronHorse2007 on a aerobic septic a pump discharges the water in most applications. You are cleaning it to remove solids not water. Aerobic systems are sometimes fiberglass so it’s important they have weight added to them so they don’t float out of the ground is one reason. also the alarm switch needs back pressure to engage the switch properly or the alarm will go off endlessly until that tank has water in it. since it is the second tank depending on how many people that could be days so we fill the aerobic unit so this doesn’t happen.

    1. Does it hurt a grinder pump to never really grind while used in an Effluent application. There's occassional scum floaters in the effluent tank. 2. My effluent tank pump is at 6 or 7ft below street level in the side yard, but pumps efflent to the backyard, uphill with elevation gain of about 25 total feet from pump to drain field and run of 40ft to 50ft tops. I want a pump what's overkill rather than underkill that can't keep up with the dose timer with what's supposed to be pumped. Prefer metal fins/vane. And upper and lower ball bearing bearings. Any suggestions make/model. It's a 120v system

  • @wholesalesepticsupply9801
    @wholesalesepticsupply9801Ай бұрын

    It doesn’t hurt them they have a much higher head pressure. if it’s a true effluent application then a cast iron effluent pump can normally be specified and work just fine. We have one at 40ft of head it’s 40gpm that’s a lot of water even with every sink on shower, and laundry you wouldn’t out run it. The elevation is what matters most of the horizontal run doesn’t really come into play much because it’s doesn’t change the head pressure in a dramatic way unless it’s very large 2000 plus feet. Other things come into play also really pressure is only there if the pipes are full they shouldn’t be if it was properly done. Once at distribution gravity disperses the water if the field lines were done correctly the pump just gets it to that point.

    I rebuilt one of these today. Lasted maybe 4 years 2 months before the alarm went off but I’ve noticed for a long while it wasn’t as loud as it used to be and when I was standing by the aeration chamber of my septic tank I didn’t hear the thumping sound like I used to when it was new and for a couple of years. I hear the thumping again after the rebuild but I swear standing by the aerator it’s no where near as loud as it used to be with the humming sound. Any reason it wouldn’t hum as loud now after I changed out the two diaphragms? I didn’t buy new chamber blocks though. Does not changing out the chamber blocks affect the humming level noise?

  • @wholesalesepticsupply9801
    @wholesalesepticsupply98012 ай бұрын

    The chambers could be the cause. They are the primary reason fake rebuild kits don’t work is the air flow is disrupted from improper air flow balance. We won’t go into the full reason as to why it does that but the air flow is much less and the aerator will act up in weird ways. If you paid less than 45-55 dollars for the diaphragm then they are fake.

    Really depends on how many people are in the house. There are systems that are literally the same dimensions in the treatment area different brand names one uses a 80 one uses a 60. Two people in the house average water use i would say you will be fine. you could do a hiblow XP 80 also and it will do what the HP-80 does same output with less amps and ways than the HP-60.
