I had a 2nd hand kx80 in 85 then a brand new one in 86then an RM80 in 87 then 88 to 90 KX100s the last of which we spent as much on it as it had cost brand new rebored, kehein carb, slechton exhaust, boysen reeds, White Power Shock, Ohlins forks, i raced it in the ACU National Championship,the stovk KX100 wasnt fast enough for me, that thing could beat an F1 race car to 60 meters, lol. Honest.

I got a 1987 RM80 brand new on Christmas Day, it was behind the curtain and i had opened my presents from underthe tree, then Pater said to open the curtains and there sitting inthe Conservatory was a spotless RM80, learned how to use that powerband, very Low to Mid range, loved it.

i had a 69 250 motocross. that thing was a rocket. in 1972 . used to have to lean her over to clear the bowl when it would bog down. expansion chamber sounded a little more crackly on mine. i rode mine on long island in glacial till.

I impaled myself on a 82 RM80! Smashed the gas tank to the frame with my NUTS! Spent two weeks in the hospital and came out sterile! Almost lost the twins altogether!

@@mad_machines I miss those day's- the RM's were the shit back then! I remember they were air cooled until 82 then they went to liquid cooled and really hit their stride! The 80's 125's and 250's litterally ruled the moto circuit! Stadium cross was just starting out, and I had the best time of my life racing em! I miss those bike's! Hearing you tear around brings back so many memories! THANKS MAN!😄👍

У меня была желтая чезета.С места тяжело было тронуться.И бензобак был такой формы,что хоть клади на него яйца и киянкой его рихтуй по форме этих яиц.А то на соревнованиях все равно яйцами выбивал лунки на бензобаке.

Whoa, she's biting at the bit, the RM 125's were struggling in the 80's, but from 1987 forward it was the RM 80 and CR 80 that were on top, although the CR had a more pro racing style powerband, while the RM had more punch on the bottom to midrange, which made it appeal to a wider range of riders.
