    Wow, You have no idea what you are doing. You wasted so much meat. That is about the most idiotic way to fillet a crappie. I'm 53 and been fishing crappy my entire life. First start by scaling the fish. There is nothing wrong with the skin the scales help protect the skin from absorbing the foul taste such as bass from a pond. Then Google how to filet a crappie because thos guy has no idea what he is doing. So much waste.

    I don't know how there could be any fish left after all these years without special regs 🤬 its a bunch of crappie in my eyes!! Look at other states around Minnesota,they have larger limits ,no slot limits and they're doing awesome. Maybe we should have some better stocking programs 🤔

  • @fishhead1314

    Most other states have longer growing seasons too. There's plenty of other lakes that you can keep the regular limit. Are you gonna pay for the stocking? I pay enough for taxes and licenses already.

    Dislike for sonar that degrades already over pressured fisheries. This is not ethical nor does it align with fair chase. You would not allow people to hunt deer with night vision scopes would you? Fisheries are being harassed due to this type of technology. We must protect resources, not cater to marketing, greed, and technology

    @@pharmfisher5371 You sound like someone who doesn't live in the real world. And your first comment has completely lost you all credibility. More walleyes are caught trolling because people still troll a hundred times more. Trolling is often a better technique. But that's meanigless, the forward facing sonar is putting way more pressure on fish, it's just a fact. And do you not think the technology will get better?

  • @pharmfisher5371
    @pharmfisher537110 күн бұрын

    @@alexw575 so you agree trolling is a more effective technique, but ffs puts more pressure on them? How does that work, does the pinging of the transducer give them a headache or something? I guess I just think people should be allowed to catch fish any way they want, limits just need to be reduced.

    comparing mono to braid with fluoro isnt really fair. Mono floats, Braid floats but is stiffer and doesnt absorb water so it keeps tension better, fluoro sinks so it is for a completely different application. Next time you find yourself in a situation where it seems that mono is working better, try putting a mono leader on your braid instead of fluoro just for testing purposes. Personally I find using braid main line and then switching the leader to mono or fluoro based on application is the best for versatility. Even if youre fishing something that needs "Straight mono" or "Straight fluoro" you can just use a pretty long leader and it will act the same.

    Watching this--again--after a few years. This is great work, video and teaching. I go on several fly-in trips per summer. Sometimes the very best fishing can be found by spending a day on a bushwhack into a portage lake (well, actually just a few hours since the boats can be primitive). Thanks, guys, and have a great summer on the lake. Can't wait for that first Canadian shore lunch!
