IMO To be called an artist you gotta be the writer. To be called a rapper you don’t. How does someone even become a ghostwriter? It’s not like the job opening is advertised.

IMO you don't have to be a writer to be considered artist. Producers are artist. DJ's are artist. All this people make and contribute to music. Now for rappers to be considered elite or the best you have to write your own lyrics. But it's not a requirement to become a rapper.
