A collection of videos taken while on adventures in "Grampa's Jeep", my 1948 Willys CJ2A that first came into our family as my uncle’s high school ride and then became my Grampa's hunting rig. That's where I first encountered it as a kid where I and many of my siblings and cousins went on many imaginary adventures, sitting in the jeep and pretending. See how I got Grampa's Jeep back into running condition in my build thread here: www.thecj2apage.com/forums/grampas-cj2a_topic16836.html

What year did you go to Fall Color Tour? I was there last year in my GPW.
Great job it's coming together great, be stronger than you started, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
1:38 Maybe there was a grommet to isolate the radiator bolt from the body and give it some flex.
I don't know enough about the M38 to know exactly how they were mounted. CJ2As have a rubber pad under the radiator setting on the tab. Thanks for checking in.
Looking good! I have a cj3b that the body is about as rough as grampa jeep . It to needs a frame swap. The round cross member under the radiator has broken loose from the frame so the bell crank is moving a lot when you steer it . Good luck with your project and thanks for sharing.
Thanks.
It looks like it sits a little taller or more space in between the rear tires and the body.
Maybe.
Always Great content Stan!!!!
Thank you!
Nice job
Thanks!
Loving the Jeep update! I can’t wait to see it back together and back on the trails!!
Thanks.
Nice job looking really good. I liked the way your doing the paint . Thanks Stan
Thanks 👍
Thank you Stan for fixing what needs to be fixed but leaving the rest of Grampa's jeep exactly as it is, beautiful. You sir, "get it".
Looking good. The reds probably going to mellow out when it ages. Most of my MD is red oxide but there's different hues depending on how much sun, dirt and oil it got. I wish this heatwave would go away so I can work on mine more.
It's certainly hot in my garage. If I get out and get the dark doors open early before they start to suck in the heat, It's faily tolerable. Thanks for checking in.
Super impressive how fast you are rolling along..... pretty soon you are going to be back on the trails and making more great memories !! Thanks for the update.
Thanks, Timm. I hope to be driving it in the next week or so.
Thanks for taking us along on this fun journey Stan! Looking very good, love that Grampa's Jeep, very heartfelt congratulations on nearing completion. Glad the body fit the new frame!!
Thanks 👍 so close now, I can taste it, or maybe that's the rattle can paint I can taste. 😋
@@Grampas-jeep Don't give up please!! You can complete!! You and Jeff with Bam Bam have brought the flat fender Jeep world to us in a unique and inspiring way here on KZread.......(you are both extraordinary and talented drivers showing us what those Jeeps are capable of etc.).....we are all looking forward to further adventures going wonderful places.........thanks and good luck Stan!
Looks good, get it back running you won’t know how to act,be like driving an totally different Jeep
I hope It's not too different. Thanks for watching.
@@Grampas-jeep your videos are very interesting to me,I just wish we had places to wheel our Willys here in Ohio like you’ll have out there, you’ll are very fortunate
Great to see it all coming back together!
Looking Good!!!
What a project! Looking good. Till we Jeep again.
Va a quedar fino. Se merece un cariñito. Good day
Did you use some rubber pads between the body and the frame? Looks great 👍
@@scubasteve7946 yes, new rubber pads on all the mounts.
Thanks for documenting your work on grampas Jeep it’s nice to see it will live on for many more years
It is the definition of patina. 🇨🇦👨🏻🏭🍻
I have a '64 3B I am restoring for off-road use. I will have it in Moab in 2025. Maybe I will see Grandpas Jeep then. Keep up the fun adventures!
Good luck with your project. Moab is great! Thanks for checking in.
Great job and I am glad you decided to film this process!
Thank you!
Great progress! It will soon be a whole Jeep again!
Good work! It will be fun to see some photos before and after and see just how much it is the same/different than it was.
As for the paint, just get it close. Spray it, and let it age just like the rest of the jeep did. Skip the fauxtina. It earned the new patches, it earns new paint.
I agree
You got a good spotter 👍
Excellent. Your crossmember modifications are necessary because God forgives, rocks don't.
Stan, nice meeting you tonight in Ogden. I hope I'm able to join you sometime with my in-laws once he gets his jeep repaired. Probably see you Tuesday at the shop. All the best
Keep it up!!
It's coming together, can't take too many dents,😂 you'll make it brand new, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
When it's back together is a trip to a muffler shop for a new exhaust pipe/muffler part of the plan?
No, this exhaust is fine. Thanks for watching.
Stunning Scenery and good camera work. I enjoy watching you guys. ,especially it up.
Nice bit of progress.
Thanks!
It an interesting build the videos could be longer but you making good progress. Thanks Stan
I'm not good at filming myself. So mostly what you get is a description of what i've already done. Thanks for watching.
You are wasting no time at all !! I'll be lucky if I find enough time to work on my own stuff to get my "stealth" tube front fenders done this year on the Penalty Box. Tired of crinkled front fenders. Thanks for sharing, and your explanations !!
@@timmcooper294 Thanks Timm.
I thoroughly enjoy all your vids, Stan. Appreciate you sharing all of them. Although Im a 94 square eye owner, I do appreciate the older Jeeps cause thats what started my love for Jeeps in the first place! I look forward to watching many more of your vids, sir!
@@mrjoecool6484 Thank you.
Thanks to you Stan Fuller, Very interesting to see how the early Jeeps are designed and built!! The cross member story is very good. Great to see your Jeep going back together. Also, the drill press idea is super helpful I would never have thought of that!! Very educational for me and no doubt many others................ Good luck with the rest of the process.............. Keep the videos coming if possible...... Take care Stan, Max
@@maxvanrunkle1052 Thanks Max.
That's an excellent opportunity to mount some Super Traxions on there👍😁
@@ThatTanWillys I’ll get right on that.
@@Grampas-jeep 😂
Thanks for the videos! My 2A has a dispatch frame. If I could have a do over, I would put in a frame mounted fuel tank.
Looking good !
Thanks!
If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Can’t wait to see it all together again!!
I think you’re gold beat me!!
@@timryan8174 I’ve got a few things getting in my way in the next few weeks, so don’t be so sure.
@@Grampas-jeep Yours is looking really good!!!
Quite a project…going great!
@@nealesmith1873 thanks.
😊
How did you get low gears into your transfer case? I thought you needed a big hole transfer case, but t90s use a small hole?
Both big hole and small hole transfer cases came behind the t90 stock. There is a special bearing retainer thingy for the big hole ones.
@@Grampas-jeep Thank you. Do you know if a big hole thingy can be ordered, or does it have to be sourced?
@jasontaylor3046 yes check with Jeepster man or Advanced Adapters.
@@Grampas-jeep thank you
When in doubt, woller her out. Master cylinder fits now.
That flywheel looks like it did some hard work for you. You got your moneys worth out of that one.
There may or may not be some clutch feathering involved in my driving style. 😊
The places you go, Function before beauty.
Thanks for checking in.
