i got my first crash following this part! i feel like i finally graduated into 3d hobbiest also, i know this is very old but i have an issue: for some reason when i make the sink, and only the sink specifically, blender decides that even a .1 weight will change the whole model back to the non-subdivided version and i have no clue on why it does it, the only way i found to solve it was to remove clamp overlap on the bevel modifier and reduce the amount to .1 so it works with 1.0 bevel weight doing this does fix the issue but does not allow me to understand what i was doing wrong in the first place and why it doesn't happen with literally anything else there were 2 times i managed to make it work without modifying said settings

at 21:13 if any of you are getting a weird shape after adding subdivision to the chair's leg; make sure the cylinder has 8 vertices and and cap fill type is set to 'nothing'

5:23 my bevel does not happen the same way as yours. it gives me a straight cut edge with 4 vertices of its own which ruins the curve. how do i fix this?

I'm not sure why but my subdivision doesn't work like yours. I mean, when I extrude monitor there is a circle that i have to change with loop cut or just take off the subdivision surface

Thank you for the guide! I got stuck on the curtain portion because when I moved my edges they just shot out and it looked like a flat plane with walls along it instead of a zig-zag output like yours, so I didn't include the curtains. Besides that, everything was all good - thank you!

You need to make it in edit mode. Press TAB or change object mode into edit mode in top left corner. When you do this, there are 3 options on right from the "object mode/edit mode" buton (Next to them is "View" button). First option is for vertaxes, second for egdes and third for walls only. It should work now.

0:50 when i separate by selection and apply a solidify modifier, it thickens the walls instead of the floor no matter what i do. I separated by selection while the floor is selected and added the modifier while the floor is still selected but it only thickens the walls :( pls help <3

ok, so, i tried a bunch of things and maybe something worked. when you "divide" the cube into cube and cube .001 you will see a symbol of a triangle on the side of the cube on the scene panel on your top right. try clicking on the same spot but for the cube .001

Does any 3dsMax users know a better way to replicate what was done with the floors and walls? In Max, I used the chamfer modifier to get the same effect, but I would have to manually adjust the topology to use open subdivide since the shape will just collapse. I am new to modeling so any tips would be appreciated!
