How does Denis' French sound? It is 400 years removed from modern French after all, although restored 20th Century connections have smoothed out a lot of the differences.
What a fabulous movie!.....on my repeat viewing list.

I saw in another video that Sting gave him a few guitar lessons. He looked pretty convincing playing Gurney Halleck's "baliset" (Chapman Stick).
Lon Suder was a great character.
It was quite refreshing seeing this film (a fan edit) after being a bit dissapointed by the Dune film earlier this year. The first half of Dune 1984 is a bit slow (and sometimes a bit boring) but then from the second half to the end i really enjoyed myself. Great costumes, great music and nice to see so many famous actors having a part in the movie :)

Later day versions don''t hold a glowing candle to two OG Dune actors: Both Sean Young & Virginia Madsen are luminescent.

I still remember this scene watching this at 10 y o in 95. even as wee little girl knowing not about love, i hated paul. He is the one demanded and choosing irulan. When i read the book....damn, i really REALLY hated paul, when he left Chani dying after birthing the twins. Not even holds her hand. Bastard.
Creative control means everything. To me, Dune always seemed like an unfinished film. It was immediately apparent that the studio had tampered with David Lynch's vision. Same as Peter Jackson's The Hobbit. It was a mess. But Denis Villeneuve Dune is incredible. 100% his vision.
