In the book about the making of episode 3, they actually mention this scene and that the script explained it by saying that before Padme died she gave a Faint smile the same on that Leia remembers on episode 6

It's not a plot whole, lela like Luke is force sensitive, so as they was born, lela could of seen her and due to force sensitive let her rember what she looked liked
I figured that with her latent Force power, Leia was reading Darth Vader’s memories of Padme.
I never needed an explanation to this. It’s Leia, daughter of the chosen one, of course she can remember her mother.
I just explained it to myself that Luke didn't know what happened to his mother and assumed that she raised Leia and when asked Leia recalled what she thought was her mother but instead she talked about the woman who raised her, Bail Organa's wife. Her sadness might be because of Leia not being her true daughter or knowing the things that lead to Leia coming into her care.
She's clearly talking about her mother PADME who is sad and beautiful the first and only time a new born Leia meets her. It's not that complicated. SW fans are so dumb
I hope the current prudish dark ages go away in the future.
While it's a shame about the plot hole in the original trilogy, George Lucas's reasons for changing the sequence of events in the prequels make perfect, logical sense - which is more than can be said about Disney's hamfisted tampering with Star Wars lore.
It's only a plot hole for people who lack brain cells.

I don't buy anything that they come up with to try to explain that ROTJ scene. I think that Lucas was lazy and didn't review what he had written before. The whole prequel series were full of contradictions but that was the worst

For me, it's very clear that Leia talks about Breha Organa. There is a video by Not My Star Wars, that explains it quite well. Even in the concept art of RoTS Ian McCraig explains he designed Breha like Padme, becausse of Leia memories. Even George Lucas showed us a sad Breha un RoTS.
Seeing how the Organas adopted Leia it makes sense to not have a senator be forthcoming with the information that they are the kid of Padmé Amidala
@@heylolp9also remember it wasn't just an adoption, it was hiding the children of Padme. Bail Organo and his wife had been considering adopting (different reasons Disney vs EU, but both versions have them considering adoption) Leia very much have been told she was adopted. . . But padme mom would have been kept secret. Even from her. And Leia may have had the typical "bio mom rejected me, woman who chose to be my mother is my REAL mom" thought process that alot of adopted kids (wave) have.

I don’t care if Leia’s inclusion in the Kenobi show “fixes a plot hole about her remembering Padme” it still opens up a whole new can of worms of her knowing Obi-Wan when they never meet in the OT. It’s also why I felt no tension throughout the show because we know nothing fatal can happen to them.
No it doesn’t, they fixed that pothole in the ending of the show. Obi-Wan tells her she must never tell anyone that they ever met for her own safety. To add to that, when Luke rescues Leia in episode 4 and tells her Ben Kenobi is here, she runs out of her cell excited saying Ben Kenobi, implying she knows him in some fashion. Reva on the other hand… is a whole other mess in that show

Lucas clearly had no idea about women. That’s why there was really one one significant woman in each of the three trilogies, amongst an army of men. The first film did a pretty good job of portraying a layered character for Leia, where she defied expectations as a princess in distress. In Empire, she was basically a romantic interest for Han, in sort of a Tracey/Hepburn kind of bickering enemies to lovers scenario. Because Han was so cool to the fanbase, Leia became the nag. Then in the third film she’s objectified, and the discovery that she’s Luke’s sister is revealed too late for any exploration of what that could mean in the development of her character. I still think Leia is one of the most interesting characters in the franchise, and definitely better than Amadala and Rey, but let’s face it, this was a guy’s film series and once Lucas’ wife was out of the picture, there was no real female perspective and no one had any idea what to do with Leia as a character.
it was so amazing to see Leia in a sexy way. When I did see her for the first time, maybe it was 1983, I was 9years old, I have been very fascinated. I did never forget her look. She is even today the most iconic woman for me.
Y'know whats even funnier is that I never found Leia attractive as a kid, so when she showed up in the bikini in Return I was just like 'meh, ok', but I was a hot blooded male and was wacking off at a very young age, and never found her 'attractive'. The fact that you used Beethoven - in many ways an artist as crazy and eccentric as George Lucas himself - to play over this piece was a very wise decision. Music is a major cornerstone of the Star Wars saga, and I don't think there's a classic musician that exemplifies this quite as well as that crazy German composer. Well done, sir. Well done.
