    Can anyone advise? Played all ms flight sims over the decades but cant get into flight sim 2020 at all. A few years ago i was hit with a brutal attack of meningitis which has left me with mild dexterity problems with my fingers. I desperately need the 2d cockpit back. With that you could see all you needed to see at a glance and my fingers could cope with pressing all the buttons which were needed for actually flying the aircraft. In 2020 every time i zoom back enough to see both outside and the instruments the instruments becomes unreadable. Instead of flying the aircraft my fingers are instead overloaded constantly having to zoom in and out, constantly having to switch views before i can do anything related to the operation of the aircraft itself. In short my fingers are flying all over the place not actually flying the aircraft - but trying to get the right view up first. Does anyone know if there is a way around this. Also mine is on the xbox platform. Can i get into anything to replace certain files etc?

    What an awesome chap to listen too, very entertaining. Eli man, probably the most interesting video I’ve seen on KZread for years. I just found him guiding us on flying this plane so interesting . I’ve flown in real life as a passenger in this aircraft many many times. Use to fly to Taiwan once/twice a year with EVA air who use the 777. Thanks Filbert for bringing us this amazing vid. Well done both of ya

    That is the Barometric Minimums. That left knob that he uses is the minimums nob, you push it into the fresh the number back to its default number, every airport has a different baro minimums. Its on the sheet. I dont know where it is since I dont use jepperson approach charts.

    I am not a 777 pilot, but a 747-400, 747-8, and 787 pilot (retired) This is great, I will watch this full video since I will end up getting the PMDG version for MSFS. I did not realize how long this bird is. The -400 is 231 feet long, but it depends on fuel load whether the 777 is wider. The 747-400 is 211 feet wide with a low fuel load, but in loading a heavy fuel load, the wings flex out to 213 feet, making it 1 foot wider and the tail is higher at 64 feet on the -400…

    Hi mate! This is an absolutely incredible video and tutorial. I bought the 777 2 days ago and have already flown from OMDB-EHAM and then EHAM-OMDB the same day. I’m currently flying to KJFK from OMDB and I have many more planned. I’m quite experienced in flight simming and knew how to fly the 777 straight away but I still watched this to get a bit more of a realistic experience and have things to do during cruise instead of watching KZread the whole time so thank you so much man! Sorry about the rude comments, you 100% don’t deserve them and I don’t understand why you got them but keep up the amazing work! 💪

    Beware those of you who are using the Simbrief Plan from the link. If you fly in the US and your A/C is setup in LBS vs. KG you will not have the proper loads. It took me awhile to figure this out and then go into the PMDG options to set the plane up to match. So I'm over an hour in and my engines are still idle 😂

    so question now that I re-watched it. @2:57:23 We say our new CRZ ALT is FL360 with the new step.... but earlier in the video, the instructor mentions they live and die by the RECD FL, which happens to be 340. so now we're over our RECD that we're supposed to live and die by which is supposed to give us best speed & fuel efficiency. Now we're 200 feet away from our MAX which he also mentions we want to have a buffer of 1000 or so to get over bad weather etc.

  • @FilbertFlies
    @FilbertFlies29 күн бұрын

    It's a very good question, and I think the simple answer is that that's PMDG's step climb logic - it climbs as high as it can. Obviously as PIC, you can opt not to do this. I'll ask Eli for his thoughts next time I speak to him.

    Great video FilberFlies and a big THANK YOU to both of you. I have a point for your consideration. In the approach phase (or all of the flight apart from TO and the visual portion of the landing) the focus is on the MCP, PFD and ND i.e. IFR flying. In your video, especially during the RNAV approach phase, half the screen is taken up with clouds! How about closing in on the instruments, maybe with occasional outside views?😯

    A great piece of work……Thank you. The fact that the genuine 777 pilot has been there, done that and got the ‘tee shirt’ to prove it, gives gravitas to the whole set-up/flight experience. After less than 10 mins of watching the tutorial (and I consider myself a fairly experienced pilot) I had already learnt 2 things that are specific to the 777 FMC set-up flow. Credit to you for putting this all together and of course to PMDG for a seriously amazing piece of development……..no wonder it took longer than originally anticipated……..but well worth the wait.
