I found your presentation a little sketchy with too much hand waving. The affectation of an excited presenter can be dropped, just be relaxed and charming, you have a natural charm. Try for a little, in depth expirience, good luck!

I (a woman) found my jean's zipper unzipped when I got off the metro. It was very crowded and people close by were looking on in horror but I didn't know why until I got out of the car.

Back in the 80s around l'Opera there were men with polaroid cameras offering to take your picture. Sometimes they would go ahead anyway and make a fuss for you not paying for it. That was way back in the day before cell phones. I'm sure they have had to move on to another way to scam tourists now. 🗼

Why be so politically correct? Almost all of the pickpockets in Paris are young female gypsies. Why not say this, as it would help your readers avoid them.

Thanks for the tips. I'm pretty street smart but a refresher was welcome as I'll be in Paris soon. Had the pick pocket attempt in the Rome subway, got pinned in the corner at the doors by a gang then felt someone trying to unzip my pocket. I just called out "PICKPOCKET"! then charged out off there bumping them and pushing then out off my way. They swore at me in Italian then they all got off at three next stop. They had my pocket zip half opened before I caught them.

So you’re saying a photo at Trocadero is way better than going up the Eiffel Tower?! 😁
@SophieNadeau5 күн бұрын
I would say that if you want photos with the Eiffel Tower in then going to Trocadero is your best bet as if you go up the Eiffel Tower then it won't be in the photos! I also think it's quite a stressful experience to go up and so would recommend the Arc de Triomphe instead (again, going up the Arc de Triomphe will ensure that the Eiffel Tower appears in your photos)!

Most pickpockets in the metro train are gipsy "Roms" from Romania; they are a pleague according to real Romanians. They are sent to foreign countries by their mafia which controls their families at home. Last trend recently was groups of young girls pretending to be tourists having fun, mainly on line number 1, so take care.

I must give off "don't bother with this guy" vibes as none of these have ever happened to me in Paris or any other European city despite having visited many times. Maybe it's because I grew up and have lived and worked in NYC and project that "don't mess with me" attitude since it's never happened to me here either. And I'm not a rude person as all, just vigilant and observant. Or perhaps just lucky. 😉

Cup and Ball can be dangerous. If you are quick enough to pick the right cup and keep a hand on it so that the man cannot remove the ball or swap the cups, he will pay, but ten meters away a gang of three-four people will ask the money back and they are no joke. Another scam is the taxi-bike. Some show a fix price, not mentioning that it is per person. Although most drivers are fair, only the French ones can possibly comment the places you go through.
