Can any of you tell me if there are any permits or regulations that I need to take into consideration? Thus far, I haven't found anything on the Internet. Thank you in advance. Stay Safe. C

    using the same size coil on the 5000 will put it at a big disadvantage- ie using an 11" on both machines. The 8*6 coil on the 5000 is far more sensitive

    Hello, I was wondering what your advice would be on detecting tools because I don't know if a shovel would be better or a pickaxe, and also with pin-pointers, I'm thinking about the minelab 35 pin-pointer

  • @MinersDenAustralia
    @MinersDenAustralia8 күн бұрын

    Hi there, it totally depends on what you are doing? Shovels / trowel type diggers are best suited to coin / relic hunters doing grassed areas where you need to dig a small, mess-free plug, where as picks are better suited for goldfield use - where you don't need to worry about making a mess digging. As for pin-pointers, for the few extra $, the new pro-find 40 has some major advantages over the old 35- the rapid re-tune function in particular.

    Does this only come on when you've installed the DD, or can this be applied when using the 11 inch mono. By holding in the ballace button for seven seconds with the 11 mono whats going to happen? I got a rippa in the local feild acouple weeks ago a smidge under 80 grams, 11 inch on the six, just audible @ foot and half.

    Are you saying that on noisy days the machine is unusable ?

  • @MinersDenAustralia
    @MinersDenAustralia18 күн бұрын

    no, not at all. Dave (and myself too) loves a super stable machine, so often runs the sensitivity at minimum- contrary to what many believe, the machine is always running at its full depth ability- upping the sensitivity just applies extra amplification to signals- be they targets, emi or ground noise. On minimum sensitivity, you get a super smooth threshold. although targets will be quieter, they will be very easy to hear as you are not listening to emi and ground noise. Sometimes less is more ;)

    In the bush I had “both” the 6000 and Xterra VLF with me. Once I found the ‘questionable’ target with the 6000 then I used the VLF in discriminate mode to second (double) check the target with the digital numbers, those digital numbers tell me a lot about what the target might be.

    Acknowledging "jealousy" seems right but platitudinous for covetousness, animosity, vilification, racial persecution, targeted violence and race riots. Similar hostility happened elsewhere and in Melbourne resulting in many being Chinese forced out, with their property, houses and storehouses burnt down, forcing them to relocate to other states and cities. Even discriminatory laws that forced them to land elsewhere in other ports such as Sydney to walk (or by horse and carriage) for 900 kms to Ballarat or Bendigo. My grandfather was the younger generation of migrants who heard the stories in Melbourne, and following race riots most of his group of Chinese men were dispersed into other states. "Jealousy" is an unjust understatement for what other cultures call "the evil eye". It's dishonest history that fails to educate and serve younger generations for the reality of life and human nature. Also, these Southern Chinese were not entirely innocent or tenderhearted asylum seekers but they were themselves relatives of and in the extended community of the failed revolutions and militia from heart of the Taiping Revolution, in Canton region, specifically the Sze Jup region that consists of Toishanese and Hakka people. They are the descendants of the of Song Empire and their clan names as recorded on the Kaifeng Steles are aristocratic Israelite clans from the "Kaifeng Jews". In other words what happened in the Australian Goldfields was both anti-sinticism and anti-semitism. If you read Dr Rev Arthur Henderson Smiths book on the Characteristics of the Chinese he gives an unbiased and fair account of the atrocious behaviour of Chinese in that era, the level of social deterioration and degeneracy in Chinese society that had a lot to do with Qing (Manchurian) invasion and oppression. Not only were many southerners addicted to opium culture following the British invasion and Opium Wars in 1839 but many had become opium smugglers and or dealers running opium cafe dens and other vices. Apart from being members of the militia for the Taiping Revolution, penalised heavily by the Qing to pay reparations taxes that impoverished them, many had ties to triads and likely Chinese pirates who smuggled both opium and fought against the Qing and British. In that sense, it could be said that it was fortunate that that generation of Chinese did not "win" when confronted with violence and skirmishes and take over the region entirely. Additionally, it wasn't until these men were dispersed that they managed to meet women, get married, and have some purpose in life (since the Australian government banned Chinese women from migrating here). Also since much of Australian society was Christian/Protestant at the time the men were confronted with issue of faith, belief in God, and Christ, making the Gold mining experience a roundabout vehicle for evangelism and God's work. It was a not only a means of paying the reparations tax and debts their family and villagers needed back home to survive but for themselves working arduously in the middle of nowhere Australia in the heat would have been a time of personal reflection, penitence, redemption and a new life.

    They even wrongly ‘named’ Victoria (and Queensland) after a repressive royal regime with an authoritarian dictator, with birth right, the only qualification for the job is the order of birth, passed down from mommy & daddy, entitled, not promoted, not elected, no discernible talent, never earned it, and gets ‘naming’ credit for doing nothing to deserve it.

    The 900 is a great upgrade for 800 users. Actually, I am finding that the new SMF Xterra Elite Expedition Pack is a also a great value upgrade for 600/800 users, especially for waterproof issues / leaking that the 600/800 experienced.
