Wait a minute...what did I miss here. You're on VATSIM here and not communicating with ATC?
yep...VATSIM vPilot has an option to connect just as an observer. So I can see them but the controller and all the traffic can't see me. Since I just started flying the C414 I felt the responsible thing to do was observer mode for the first handful of flights until we at least have some hours in the seat. It's good practice to roll through all the frequencies, fit in with traffic, and fly it like we have our clearance.
