    The bidding system is interesting. It's not something i've ever used, but I see the utility and how it could go a long way in making everyone happy. I tend to always get stuck playing the axis no matter what version of the game I play, but i'm ok with that. I enjoy trying nontraditional strategies too to almost handicap myself when playing against opponents of lower skill.

  • @BoardGameNation
    @BoardGameNationКүн бұрын

    Glad you enjoyed the series! Yes. Japan (and any other power) can build any IC it normally could in the out of the box rules. You didn't see it here because in tournament play, it isn't usually fast enough to stand up to an all-out American assault. Thanks for watching!

    @@BoardGameNation thats interesting, we have been trying a strategy with Japan using some ICs in a defensive posture to stop the American and Uk assault in the 5 round limit, and it has been very successfull for the axis player, so much that we thought it wasnt allowed in tournament game because it feels too overpowerd. We have been playing A&A for more than 15 years I think, going back all the way to Classic and global versions. Thank you for your response, wish you the best luck in this year tournament

    I have the original Axis and Allies 1942. What is the difference between that and Axis and Allies 1942 Second Edition?

  • @BoardGameNation
    @BoardGameNation10 күн бұрын

    If you mean the 1984/6 Classic, there are loads of differences. The DNA of the game is the same, but there are different kinds of units, different win conditions, a more interesting map, better unit sculptures, and more balanced game play. If you still remember how to play the 1984/6 version, I suggest going to the description of the video and looking at the Chapter Guide for anything you aren't familiar with. That should get you caught up fairly quickly. Thanks for watching!

    I'm curious about nomenclature. You call this 2nd edition, but this seems to be what I would think of as the 3rd edition board (artillery etc). My understanding was that there was a cardboard version before the MB edition which was the first I played.

  • @BoardGameNation
    @BoardGameNation10 күн бұрын

    A very fair question. I suppose if you are counting all the versions of the game that use the entire world (rather than Europe/ Pacific/ local)... that would mean the 2012 release of 1942 "Second Edition" would actually be Sixth Edition. (Nova, 1984, 1986, Revised, 2009 (1942: World at War) and then 1942 Second Edition). So, yeah. I wouldn't look for a lot of logic in how these are named... but they are fun! Thanks for watching!

    I would have to say the Axis and Allies 1941 is probably the closest to the original in terms of rules. This is the smallest and simplest currently available version of the game. However, if you have played the Classic from 1984, I would suggest 1942 Second Edition over 1941. It is a better, more engaging game that is more suited to experience table top game players. I have the 2017 re release of this game which I got in mid 2019, this is without doubt the best version of Axis and Allies in my opinion, can I ask what might seem a silly question, what is Hasbro's role in the Axis and Allies series, as I often see their logo on the box of the games, even though it is published by Renegade Game Studios?

  • @BoardGameNation

    Great video thank you!. I have a question… I arrive to this video for the name, because I am looking for a video that explains and teach how Artillery works, not AAA but the one that add +1 to the infantry. I have some doubts, about this unit. I am not sure if it works or not if when no infantry is beside one, that is the main question, but I would like, if you have a video explaining this unit to watch it and clear all the doubts for this one. Thank you again.

  • @BoardGameNation
    @BoardGameNation15 күн бұрын

    Let's see if we can clear this up. Each Artillery unit gives a +1 to one Infantry unit when attacking the same territory. This is a 1:1 ratio... 1 Artillery buffs 1 Infantry. If there are no infantry present, the Artillery can still attack alone, hitting on a 2 or less. It can not effect any units other than Infantry. If you would like to see an example, follow this link to our full How-to-Play video for A&A 1942.2: kzread.info/dash/bejne/e3-tucN8YNnYpLA.htmlsi=5ZHul6Ty2xIZWqoe&t=1650 Here is another, more complex example from another of our video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/intn0LichrjUoLw.htmlsi=QBjLSKiXSvV8JtMH&t=596 I hope these help! If you have the artillery and the infantry, we say that this add +1 to the infantry, but... it counts as one unit? or two units? I mean... if you only have 1 infantry and 1 artillery... do you have 2 attacks? one dice with (with result 2 or less to hit) for the infantry plus one dice (2 or less to hit) for the artillery? or just one dice (2 jor less to hit) only for the artillery+infantry? Thank you!. And yes I watched the video, I will do again.
