    😬 A little sketchy for me. I get it works, but a chipping gun with a long bit would be my method. I dont know any operators around here that I would trust to do this. I can see a busted cutting ring in someone's future, I hope its a customer of mine. Actually 🤔on second thought, yes great tip, might make me some money😮. Thanks for sharing with us ✌️

    I have been doing this many years. Never a problem. And if you don't feel safe using a pipe, you can use a 2 / 4 if you're worried about the cut ring, but I've never had that issue. I'm really careful. What I do and you can use the chipping. Long bit all You want But it. doesn't work as fast as this method. It seems sketchy until you try it.

    This has happened to me twice, cold side, and hot side. Suppose to be a brand new 6.0 engine. Also, the coolant is all over on the engine compartment and hood. This is the third time I had to take it back to the shop. Over $15,000 to have this engine put in, now its back the shop. Sad. Great video. Thank you.

    Thank you. I did just that and they did a hell of a job on my 6.0. But it cost more money for them to clean the mess the other mechanic did. Other then getting a few error codes, its running great. Just about every thing is new in and on the engine. Yep it cost. Thank you.@@dontblameme6328

    06 F250 KR. im on stock clamps and Riff Raff boots for hot side and cold side. I make damn near 30 psi. It was on stock boots, and the same boot you were working on failed in a similar way. The inner layer formed a small tear, which started delaminating the layers. the pressure slowly pushed its way between the layers, and out past the clamp. Luckily I never completely separated a boost pipe while operating the truck. I put aftermarket RIff Raff boots on there and tq'd the stock Ford clamps to factory inch/lbs and I haven't had a problem since. also, you don't have to worry about any of the bits of silicone from the failing boot affecting the turbo vanes. that boot is on the "send" side of the turbo; all the air coming out thru that boot has already met the vanes. The rubber pieces you are missing would either clog up the intercooler, or would get sucked into the intake and melted. Not as potentially catastrophic as encountering turbo vanes, but still not ideal. Thanks so much for making this video!

    Great video, I had the same issue with my stock OEM boot. Probably my fault for not tightening the clamp tight enough or cleaning the connecting parts. I followed the manufacturer's spec. on the clamp tightness. I purchased an aftermarket performance boot and it is holding up fine with my truck having the Edge with Attitude tuner.

    Cheap part but, that rubber is not getting into anything on the pressure side. That rubber grove should be under the clamp and you have the NAPA oil filter cap which is fine as long as you keep using NAPA filters.

    Have similar problem when driving my 6.0 normal speed at the beginning driver side of engine by air filter makes a bog sound and goes away cant figure out were exactly its coming from no code

  • @chrisdanko8324
    @chrisdanko83245 жыл бұрын

    Is this bogging noise happening on acceleration if so change the air filter and see if it breathes a little better I know on ours we'll have a bogging noise when accelerating hard it's trying to force air through something that is being restricted which makes a noise in the air box itself changing the air system would be a better upgrade but for the six O's I've noticed these trucks can run completely like crap and still not throw a code oil pressure is so sensitive on this particular engine and without having a proper diagnostic reader that kid read The rhythms you're just twiddling your thumbs. We've had 6.0 on the diagnostic tool and still could not find the problem these engines are such a headache hint of advice get rid of the truck it's a money pit and it will run you out of house trying to maintain all the little twerks that goes on with this particular engine we had 15 of them we're slowly starting to change them out in our Fleet

    Completely understandable if that was a habitual action that happened with this design but after sliding the injector in the O-ring is still fully visible maybe that was the metal o-ring that went underneath it to stop it from Rolling but you could see role in the O-ring easy before putting the gasket on and the top cap thanks for the advice I do usually use pool seal Grease it's clear it works very well and it keeps the O-ring condition from early cracking. Thank you for watching
