    The original ending had Derek shaving his head again after Danny was killed... which some people said it made sense... but HOW would that have made sense?! He already learned that Cameron was full of shit and was just using them to sell video tapes... Not to mention he found out in jail that the Aryan Brotherhood were booty bandits that didnt mind gays and mexicans as long as they could grape men and sell drugs with them... So why would he go back go that at the end of the movie? 🤣🤦🏾‍♂️

  • @RoosterMontgomery
    @RoosterMontgomeryАй бұрын

    Valid point. One could assume Derek simply started over with the grievous memory of his father's death, which put him on the path to begin with and Danny's senseless death sent him right back to where he started. The hypocrisy he learned of with Cameron and The Ayrian Brotherhood were minor setbacks to someone who believed in fundamental White Supremacy.

    Danny was being a smart ass and just trying to get a rise out of Sweeney and it was maybe a misguided attempt to impress his brother. Murray called it out correctly but in error assumed that Derek was behind it (whereas it was probably Seth or someone else) Later this is made apparent when Danny boasts to Derek about pissing off Sweeney with the paper and Derek was not amused by his stunt.

    This movie made no sense whatsoever, he was suppose to teach his brother through his experience and critical thinking that hate was wrong and racism was wrong. But stereotypes are not! And this movie came full circle to solidify that. Yes it is dumb to hate people because of the color of their skin, that is the most ridiculous thing in life. But the stereotypes of culture, up bringing and the way people predominantly choose to live their lives tests thr bounds of tolerance. Its not a secret that africam american culture is very negative to themselves and people who they come in contact. The movie ends basically saying white people learn from their mistakes and blacks people don't and will continue to cause destruction to society and themselves just as the brother preached on his racist tirades. He was wrong about color, but not about their culture and THAT is what makes people racist and stereotypical. So I dont know what their true analogy was suppose to be.

    I disagree with your assessment, especially since the whole reason Danny got shot at the end by that thug was because he was from another gang and Danny disrespected him in front of his homies. It wasn't like the dude randomly shot him. He shot him because he was part of a rival gang. He didn't even have time to find out about how Danny was no longer in the gang or a Nazi.

    The significance of this scene is to not give up on youth so easily. Kids will come across and attach themselves to some crazy ideas. And may even act out on some of them. But short of murder or similarly unforgivable acts, a teacher or a parent should still try to impart some guidance their way.

  • @kommisar.

    Sure, go work at one of these schools full of these "at-risk kids" and see how quickly your attitude changes. The fact is troubled kids like Danny are the exception, not the rule. Most are not smart or come from a good home like Danny. Most are dumb, live in a dysfunctional household and have no impulse control. For every success story Sweeney has with someone like Danny, he has at least a dozen who never change.
