I have a AC522CE. It sounds great! The workmanship and quality is as good any any guitar out there. The "Even C shaped neck" is awesome too. It feels the same at the 10th fret as it does at the first. I have other guitars with low oval and modified V and whatever else on some considerably more expensive guitars and IMO the Eastman neck is the best out of all of them. This quickly because my favorite guitar. And for you mahogany lovers out there, all I can say is I don't know where the Chinese get their mahogany, but the grain and figuring of it is nothing less than amazing. People who know nothing about guitars or wood have had their eyeballs popped and comment on how beautiful it is. Eastman should have put the strings on the back side!!! haha. Easily, this guitar by any other name would fetch well in excess of 6K$. Its a mind boggling work of art. This is not a dig on the guitar or Eastman but I did have to lower the action a bit, about 0.02 inch to get it to where I want it, but that's pretty much expected of any acoustic guitar from the factory. The factory set up is pretty good though and likely just fine for most folks.

I got a Slash J-45, and a Song Writer “Fire Devil “ , I prefer the Song writer, because you can do more with it, as it has a cut away.

The Gibson has the edge all around but is it worth the additional cost? Let's look at resale value down the road. Gibson it is.

@@mightymustache6949 I love daddario nickel bronze, they bring out a really beautiful enhanced clarity in the midrange once you break them in after a week or so and they’re by far my favorite set on this guitar, far less brittle and harsh overtones as standard phosphor bronze strings :) I’d also recommend the Jim Dunlop rounded bevel pick that Ian recommends in his gear list (think of it as a more affordable version of a blue chip pick) enjoy your guitar my friend!

The Gibson, but then I'm kind of a Gibson guy. The Martin sounds great, they usually do. But so does the Gibby, and she's beautiful. And I'm used to their necks. Gibsons usually do it for me sonically and visually. I've had Martins I've loved, though. I

Update on this piece of shit goes something like this. I paid $800 for this dog and I go to sell it for trade and in less than two years the top has a huge bubble from regular string tension. I replaced this Chinese POS with a Yamaha FS 820. As far as I’m concerned the $300 base model 6 string sounds every bit as good as ANY Martin. Buy with your ears not with your eyes

I've owned both. For the money, the Eastman is a bargain. The Martin has somewhat subjectively better tone, but not $3000 better than the Eastman. I currently own 5 Martin guitars and 3 Eastman.
