Truth! If you're interested, you can discover the odd set-up Chris used to record this song on Din of Ecstasy: app.box.com/s/bdpm4plqpqy814l1jt1n09yd8a51g9kh Link is to my compilation of hundreds of articles, etc. re Chris Whitley.

So beautiful. Love you Mr. Whitley.
Love how Mr. Whitley flips into head voice. Beautiful.
wow........ this show is beautiful; raw and lot's of songs from Din of E 🙏🏼
Such a beatiful man oozing with talent. Tittilating torture.
What a bad ass!! His guitarist’s solo was was…I cant think of words to describe it. Just a great performance by the whole band. There’s nobody like Chris though. Damn! I sure do miss him.
My fav Dust with this band is their performance at Park West (Chicago) during the Spring 1992 tour: archive.org/details/cw1992-04-19.flac (DR is the closing song).
Nobody like him at all✌️
One of the most gifted musician that ever lived.....
This song is built into my brain. Saw him live a lot...Thanks Chris & Kate

@@KatieDewitz4ChrisWhitley Thanks much!
😢
I would like to know his tunings are. Definitely not standard tuning.
Ask and you shall receive: wp.me/p3GDKV-41 A chart of the tuning of nearly every CW song!
Down and dirty. Rock on Mr. WHITLEY.
Talented tortured soul. Beautiful man. Love you Chris. Rest in Peace.
It's like listening to an entire band of heroin addicts! They are tuned into some great stuff but just can't quite pull it off!
My great uncle got sent to Leavenworth when he was in the army. I don’t think it was a promotion.
That was excellent. The band did him proud. Great harmonica from Paul too.
Wow, what a find. I have always absolutely loved this song. NEW BRUTAL ARCHITECTURE FOREVER!!!!

'Din...' was/is a perfect album. Wish I'd got to see him live.
Haven't seen this one before. Chris seems more relaxed with the interview than usual. He looks the picture of health here as well. I saw him on the Johnny Lang tour in New Haven in spring 99. He got a great ovation there.
Pretty and rough. Delicate and tough.
I am a 44 year old german guy and i saw him live in berlin over 20 years ago and his music became one of my best friends in my life. No words to express what this music does to me. He had so much passion in his unique playing. It warms my heart that other people feel the same. Prayers to Chris thanks for your gifts ❤🙏
Me too!
It was a lot slower for whatever reason and the look on his face showed he wanted it amped up there wasn't the kick as with other times he played it but wow I enjoyed it anyway. He is so hypnotic to watch and listen to. I only began listening to him a month or so ago I never heard of him. I just came across it and everyday I listen to him and watch him now. I even told a guy at X-ray today to listen to him and told him there was a video about him on youtube. I'll keep on keeping on watching his video's I also feel so sad about the way this went for him.
I was lucky enough to meet Chris Whitley after a show at Toad's Place in New Haven in May 1997. After being a fan since summer 1991, it was a treat. And he was very kind and welcoming amongst the chaos of that environment. He signed a few things for me but mostly I told him how much I appreciated his music and how it all affected my life. His death really affected me, and that loss is still felt deeply.
Just read about this guy in a book recently, thought I'd check him out, absolutely mesmerizing.I also love CZ motorbikes so stoked to see the CZ sticker on his guitar.
Lots more about Chris (including his racing motocross as a kid) on my blog (allthingschriswhitley.com/) and in our Facebook group (facebook.com/groups/allthingschriswhitley). Here's a photo of his bike at the family cabin where Chris recorded Dirt Floor: app.box.com/s/eeuoppbqgjjm91tgco0gwxtjfma39j6u

Awesomeness
Sweet memories just flood even though it was Aug 8th 2015. Sigh
Not sure what you mean with your date reference ....
Love Mr. Whitley. Will meet him in heaven. We will do a duet him and I.
As another fan has already said, "The most criminally underappreciated artist of my lifetime." A story teller, worn shoes scuffling through the dust (and now) the the dirt, using his keen eye to remind us about the work that still needs our attention in this tired world !
I am grateful Katie that you have the love and determination to share Chris's amazing music with us.
Thank you
