Hello! In this video, we're trying something a bit different. Usually, on our channel, we share content about art, culture, and design, and we're always looking for ways to make our content even better. In June, we decided to take a break from our studio and visit Kyoto. We thought it would be great to share the beautiful things we saw with you in a more personal way. If you enjoy this type of video, please let us know. Your comments mean a lot to us. Also, in our journal, we provide updates irregularly but aim to offer deep insights and inspiration across a wide range of creative topics. Check it out if you want to learn more: danslegris.com/blogs/journal Thank you, and we hope everyone is enjoying their summer! 🌼🌼

Minimalism is obsessed with less material things, that people become anxious forcing themselves to get rid of none use. Wabi Sabi allows for imperfection that calms, and having objects that you don’t use, that you find valuable. Wabi Sabi brings us close to nature, while Minimalism bring us to minimum objects with the soul purpose of giving you time to focus on tasks, focusing on outcomes. Focusing on outcomes comes with perfection and pointless suffering.

as i teach myself Shodo calligraphy, as a calligrapher trained in western (Roman script) tradition, the idea of WabiSabi is mind-boggling! that there is beauty in Imperfection, ties in perfectly with the concept of Enso : the Circle made in a single stroke... IMperfect or otherwise!

I absolutely love 侘び寂び, there's a real profound reason that it's becoming so popular even outside of Japan. It's a great reminder to appreciate the simple & transient things in this life
Very balanced. I don't like this architecture. It's a provoking power pose.

You don’t explain Wabi in three minutes. You apply it over a lifetime. You can follow all the knowledge in the world in just three minutes. But if you cannot apply it in your life, then you missed the boat.

Wow, this video perfectly captures the essence of Wabi Sabi! I've always been fascinated by the Japanese aesthetic principles, especially Wabi Sabi. It's amazing how this philosophy celebrates the beauty in imperfections and simplicity. Thank you for sharing this insightful video and helping me embrace the Wabi Sabi mindset in my own life.

Dans, “mon ami,” My heart rebels from seeing comment areas, especially for posts such as this, regarding beautiful and well presented subject matter in a concise and well illustrated manner, to lie bereft of kudos, or at least some sort of kind or relevant word… Ukiyo-e, both the joyful collecting and the related study thereof, is one of the most satisfying and deeply compelling aspects of my current life! Thank you for this little gem of a “floating world” post… - Namaste! Glenn Jones

Bellissima arte . Sono affascinata
Thank you so much for this video, I am writing a paper on the meaning behind noh masks and costumes and this helped me out so much!
