It's not a very safe place to live, it's flooded before, it will flood again. Plus the water in the Willamette is big time, unsafe. I used to live in Portland.

What river is it?
Hi Austin. It is on the Multnomah Channel (fed by Willamette and Columbia). I live on the Channel. It's the best!
So are swarms of mosquitoes and eroding banks after flooding....
We don't have any more mosquitos than other areas as the river is in constant motion and not stagnate water.
Mosquito problem? Plant lavender.
Also Avon skin so soft is the best bug repellent ever and you smell nice not like deet.

I do not miss that life. Looks like North Sauvie island around Scappose, not the best of areas and paying for the water....don't live on a houseboat or a boathouse, more trouble than anything.

That’s a very nice little home and the way it’s laid out actually seems quite spacious and not cramped at all. I find the cooking stove quite curious as I’ve never had one of those yet. I appreciate your offering here, but of course I’m one of those guys who would be really interested to know about costs initial yes, but really going forward mooring costs or rental hookups. Do you have tanks of some sort or do you have connections to city water sewer & gas? Can you live there full-time or is this a summer only kind of a thing? Somewhere I got the idea you’re in Portland, that might entirely wrong. So yeah, wondering about winter and what that adds to or takes away from life there? Are you able to have a car and where do you park?
Morning. We own our slips here so the monthly fee is low, 350. Covers water, sewer, garbage and dock up keep. We have a parking lot and there is a ramp down to the houses. I am on propane and have two tanks outside my house. Super easy!
@@FloatingHomesPortland oh? I’m kind of surprised you can get big trucks to service some propane that close to the water to fill tanks. You didn’t mention electric or is that part of the monthly fee?
