Many thanks to you I've had done this trip last year in one long day , wish I've seen this episode before I did 😢 Thank you so much
Thanks for the video. The heart shaped waffles are actually originally from Germany. It‘s called Bergische Waffel.
Does this cover by Oslo pass? such as Ferry to go around ( Oslo pass only cover zone 1 & 2). Also, How can I check the attraction 's zone ? Thank you.
Zone 1, which is all of Oslo is covered by the Oslo Pass, this includes the ferry as well. All attractions in Oslo are within zone 1. Good luck!
Very informative and educatinal with history in the mix, the use of the english vocabulary was awesome.
Tusen takk for your Nice Feedback!
I'm curious what time of the year you did this journey. I did this journey a couple years ago but I chose to drive from Oslo to Flam. The drive was an amazing experience as well with all the tunnels you have to go through. Love your video. Thank you!
It was in late February. Driving is also nice 👌
Thanks for this - currently planning a visit to Bergen. May I ask what brand your Jacket is?
It’s a Northug St. Moritz parka :)
Very helpful 🎉❤
This is a very informative video, summarized all the important points about a one day journey from Oslo to Bergen. Are there any options to board an alternate train/rail ride in the event of train delays? I tried to use the Norway in a Nutshell site and it appears the arrival and departure times between the stations/stops are fairly close.
Thank you! No there is only one train between Oslo and Bergen. They are usually quite on time though 🤞👍
Is anybody help me. To get job in Oslo. I’m an Indian but I really love Oslo Norway. I want help from some one who really helps me appreciate and this is not a right to ask here apology for this, kindly help me and I’m in need. I completed my graduation. Thank you.
I saw you in Hovedøya 😊 Thanks for all useful information you share with us
You are welcome! Come say hi the next time :)
thanks Pal, lovely video. i shall be in norway next month .and i am taking a break - with overnight stay in flam
Thanks for watching, and enjoy your time In Norway!
Thank you for all the information, we had a fabulous trip to Norway. We loved the flam railway and the ferry back to Bergen was fantastic!
@@katedobinson3891 you are welcome! I’m glad to hear you had a nice journey 👍
How long should I stay in Bergen?
Most stay 1-2 full days
This is a really good guide to Bergen! Thanks so much, we are looking forward to our trip to Norway and Bergen especially!
@@NicolaMacManus thank you! Tusen takk!
I really enjoyed it ❤
Lovely 😍
To anyone reading this - if you are doing Norway in a Nutshell, please spend at least 2 nights in Flåm. Its beauty is unrivaled, and there’s so much to do - ziplining, riding a bicycle, exploring the fjord, hiking, etc…just don’t go straight to Bergen, you would miss out on seeing so much beauty.
thanks dear helpful , taking a overnight stay in flam
Hi Pål - I just would like to share that I visited Flåm 2 weeks ago and not only was your video of great help, but the whole Flåm experience has been one of the most beautiful things that has happened to me while traveling. I stayed there for 2 nights and can’t recommend it enough! I don’t understand why Flåm is not in everyone’s destination list, as to me, it surpasses in beauty so many other European landmarks…to anyone reading this - please stay at least 2 nights in Flåm and plan a bicycle ride, a Fjord safari, a visit to Stegastein, a zipline, etc…there’s so much to do! Thanks Pål and please keep promoting your beautiful country! It’s simply unmatched.
@@dcairol thanks a lot for your nice input! Some day I’ll make a separate episode on just Flåm :)
I’ve never eaten anything on that menu before. I’ve only Heard of two of them, lutefisk and lefse. I am no good at cooking things, I can do some simple stuff like bake a pizza, boil hotdogs, grill hamburgers, etc. I would probably ruin all the stuff you prepared so well. My Norwegian name, Ingebrigtsen, is pretty much the only Norwegian thing in my life. I want to try that plate at least one time, but I’d need someone else to prepare it. I only know of one Norwegian restaurant in the Phoenix metropolis where I live.
Hi there! If you visit Norway during Christmas you can try many of our traditional dishes in the restaurant… including lutefisk 😋
Now i love Oslo even more.
takk pÅl
Vær så god!
Come posso comprendere a quale zona appartiene un determinato luogo? Onde evitare errori nell’acquisto
You can put in the start and end station in the app and it’ll tell you how many zones you need . Zone 1 covers all of Oslo
This is exactly like the cabin my family had in Minnesota. It was the best time of my life.
Nothing beats some life at the cabin
I've been to Norway once, and I'm thinking of heading there again for my honeymoon. Very happy to find your channel, keep the videos coming! You've got yourself another sub! :)
Thanks a lot Ray! I hope you’ll make it over here again :) 🇳🇴
As someone who lived in Oslo and moved out, don’t fall for this propaganda piece. The only good spot to visit is syverkiosken but forget about driving anywhere, bring your life savings and pray to god that the terrible public transport system has charged their batteries. Yeah we use EL busses in negative 30 degrees, try to guess what the big story was last winter…

i will go to Oslo nextweek and I will follow you. Thanks from Thailand
@@greenbean9171 enjoy!
I've found my country :)
Enjoy it so much from Thailand
Thank you!
Love your clip

Hi this video isnreally helpdul thank you do much !! But when did you go ?
Thank you! Late February
What restaurant do you recommend for traditional Norwegian cuisine?
Try the Bryggeloftet Restaurant
Greetings from Romania and thank you for the very useful information,Pal! We can ride all the different means of public transportation, on the same ticket, includig the ferry from Aker Brygge? Thank you and all the best!
Yes you can! Thanks for watching the episode:)
Thank you sharing this. How can we buy tickets for the ferry?
Ruter app or in a Narvesen kiosk
This video is great! I’m visiting Bergen next month for a few days. Do you recommend any restaurants?
Thanks! Try out Allmuen Restaurant. Or find more suggestions here: norwaywithpal.com/city-guides/bergen-city-guide/
went there when I visited Bergen based on your video.. Was awesome.. thanks a lot!!
That’s great to hear! :)
Ya quiero regresar!!!!!! I want to return!
Bienvenidos :)
I like very much
When was this trip done ? And Do we have to take the same route while coming back from Bergen ?
Late February. You can take a direkt train back to Oslo, but after Myrdal station it’ll be the same as when you traveled to Bergen.
Is the luggage compartment/storage in flam train?
Yes there is storage for luggage, or just keep it where you sit. No worries 😌
how to book the ferry ticket for sightseeing? if i am going to depart from aker brygge and return to the same spot afterwards, how shall i select my 'destination' in Ruter app? or shall i book it in person?
Just buy a single ticket for zone 1 before you board. It lasts 60 min. If you are planning to get off at some island you might want to buy a full day pass
@@norwaywithpal thats awesome! thank you so much!!
takk for maten
Vær så god!
Great video
Do you hear up the lefsa?
Nope
lol. thx for an informative yet entertaining video. Can a tourist rent towels from somewhere? Do hotels generally provide towels for this purpose?
Some hotels can provide it. Or just borrow one and ask for forgiveness later ;)
Norway, what a example of society!
If you do this trip in the end in January, but you split it over 2 days is it still worth it?
Yes!
thank you for this very informative video! i'm planning a trip soon, just wondering, can we buy the bus ticket (Voss-Gudvangen) ahead in time via the app or this is unnecessary?
You Are welcome! You can not reserve seat on the local bus so if you buy them days ahead or 1 min ahead makes no difference
@@norwaywithpal got it, thanks Pal! another thing, do I really need a local phone number to register on those transport apps (Ruter, Skyss etc), or any mobile number would do?
@@purpleorked you don't have to register on Ruter, just "sign in as guest" .. I think it's the same on Skyss. Tbh I don't have the full overview as the apps change all the time
@@norwaywithpal thanks! really appreciate your responses :)
