Disappointed! I thought you were going to let us know a work around for the latency. I have a full iem setup but wanted to use the send as a feed to the amp before the amp/cab simulation and the send to the pa/monitoring after the simulation but time aligned properly. Your solution (just live with it) is probably the one I'll end up with too!
Hey! Thanks for watching. If I understand what you are trying to do, I would use a SEND in front of the AMP/CAB modules to your AMP, and your Main Out(s), including the whole signal patch, to the Front of House. That should work without any latency.
great video thanks ! I never seen a bass like this yamaha. What is it?
Hey!! Thanks for watching!! That is the Yamaha Attitude III, Billy Sheehan bass.
Earthquaker Devices is own by Yamaha?
Not that I am aware of, based on a quick look on their website.
I loved and miss my bass pod live floor effects unit
I know right!!! I still get my POD XT out every now and then! A much simpler time :-)
What about the Bass pod Go system?
No problem. I’ve heard it said by several people on KZread that Quad Cortex was the most powerful multi effects processor on the market. I guess if you hear it enough from multiple people, the tendency is to believe it. I’ve also heard things about seamless preset changes that were not accurate. Both the original Headrush Pedalboard and the Headrush Prime can seamlessly change from one preset to another. Of course, the Tone Master Pro can do that as well. I’ve owned all of these multi effects units, so I know from experience that they have that capability. I currently use the Tone Master Pro. I’ve sold all of my other units. For me, I think the Tone Master Pro is the best all round solution. It works the way guitarist think. It’s the closest thing to using actual amps and pedals that I have found. Of course, all of this very subjective. We like what we like. Life would be boring if we were all the same. I appreciate what you do on your channel. Take care. 😎🎸
Great insight.. Marketing is everything - the first thing you see on the quad cortex site is "The Most powerful floorboard amp modeler on the planet", while Fender are pushing "A Universe of Sound". My guitarist has recently swapped over to Tone Master Pro as he believes it works/sounds better with his Fender guitars. As you say, very subjective, and controversial. Thanks very much for your support.
kemper is better than
The Tone Master Pro has an 8 core processor. And, the Headrush has a Quad Core processor, so the Quad Cotex is definitely not the most powerful multi effects unit out there.
Hey!! Thanks for the clarification, I certainly didn't get that from their website.
Which cores, though? Like, a modern 4-core i3 will run circles around even a 16-core Xeon from 2010.
I alwys pitch the helix to any of my friends that start to play live, or want to play at home
Awesome! What feature(s) do you like the most?
Helix is a no brainer, sounds excellent!
I agree! Thanks for watching and commenting
I like the helix hardware and the UI a lot. I just can't get behind the quality of the amp modeling from line 6. It just doesn't sound as realistic as kemper, quad cortex, or fractal (fender tonemaster pro doesn't sound great either). I'm still rocking kemper for both guitar and bass amps, and it's still one of the top dogs. Love it.
Hey!! Thanks for watching and for sharing your insights on the different amp models. It's always interesting to hear what works best for different musicians.
I've been using Line 6 platforms for my bass playing and home studio work for a number of years now. With all the new platforms coming out, should I change?

WINGS - Silly Love Songs
Legend mate. Gotta say as a past drummer and trying to air drum with you was freaking laughable of how out of beat the changes through me off! Keep em coming
LOL!!! It all seems easy until you actually start to get into it. The song is a MONSTER!
I use this trick a lot in rehersal studios for using the HX Stomp as an in ear monitor.

Thanks for the video. I'm new to the HX Stomp and I've been looking for help with pitch shifting down a tone. Your video was very helpful.
Awesome! I use this all the time, glad it is helpful for you.
Absolutely Awesome ways to Dive Bomb a Bass! Legend!!! Great to see / here people thinking -playing outside the box and the HX Stomp / Helix Stuff is really something else. Cheers mate 🤘🎸
Hey!! Thanks very much for the feedback and for watching. Very much appreciated!!
Your bass tone sounds great on my iPhone.
Sounds even better on my headphones. Great job with the video. Thanks
Thanks very much. And thanks for taking the time to watch.
I don't understand how people get these great sounds out of the helix. When I try to set up an amp, it always sounds brittle and scooped, it sometimes feels like the parameters don't really do much.
I know exactly how you feel. Keep at it, and you'll unlock some great tones. A great place to start with really fantastic "flat"/neutral bass sounds is stuff from jon willis drtone.theblackcreekband.com/?fbclid=IwAR2eVvoRggZn_6ZXFOxvHQc2EwAbWZ-Y9cmNjEKtRLuGNPmHsF0B55-lHLM . The man is a genius. or you can grab a copy of my book where I describe how I approach setting up a signal chain and how the bass effects work geni.us/DitchAmp_Book
And 1st true love?
Absolutely. This was the first "grown up" bass I ever owned.
Great video man! I’ve messed around with the Poly Capo to help tune to drop A#/Bb but I’ll give the Pitch whammy a shot during my next rehearsal. Thanks for the idea and video!
Fantastic!!! let me know if it works for the A#/Bb
Retuning or changing basses between songs is a pain. I use the Pitch Wham effect in my Helix and HX Stomp to adjust the tuning to the song I'm playing along with.
bla...bla...bla...
Thanks. Much appreciated
Good day. I need to use two different presets in a song. Verses: Preset 1. Chorus: Preset 2. How can I do that? Do you have an idea? Thank you very much and greetings. Andrew
Hey Andrew... Thanks for watching. I assume you are wanting to use BandHelper to issue two MIDI messages at different times in the song, at the verse and then for the Chorus. You can add multiple MIDI presets to a song, but I believe it executes both when you press the MIDI button. The better way would be to use a footswitch or another MIDI device (pedal, have the keyboard player trigger it, etc). Worst case, you can break the song into two BandHelper "songs", one for verse and one for chorus. Alternatively, you try a similar approach with Stage Traxx 3. I've not used it, but I believe it may have some more advanced MIDI capability. The config on the Helix side should be the same.
@@twistieonbass thank you very much.
Hi! Yeah, its an incredible song! I am not completely sure about this, but is it possible, you have a lot of muscle tention in your neck while singing? (It seems to me you are much more relaxed while playing strings.) In the back of my head there's an image of seal standing there with his arms spread out whidely and the sun in his face- an image completely opposite of tention. Maybe i noticed because relaxing while singing is a huge thing for me too, [but if accomplished, it really helps a lot[ And on the other hand side there pops up the phenomene of the 'power stance', which gives you easier access to the higher notes (which then again makes relaxation possible) Thanks for sharing & stay tuned! ;)
Thanks Paul. Yes, singing is something I only just started to have a go at. Bass is my comfort zone. Grateful for the feedback.
I'm a gigging player doing disco, RnB, and modern pop/rock. I need dependable synth sounds. I like what you & IMA are doing with this unit but when it comes to Hi-tech, I'm almost Amish😂 Any info would be appreciated 👍🏼😁
Absolutely. What would you like to know?
@@twistieonbass I do a lot of disco/pop in my line of work. How steep is the learning curve for creating bass synth sounds? I'm a rock guy so all I ever used for years was a OD so I'm not the most tech savvy cat in the jungle. Any advice would be appreciated.👍🏼🙂
@@craighill3715 Sounds like fun!! There are a number of synth presets on the Dr Tone site (drtone.theblackcreekband.com/preset/synth-bass-pack/) and Ian Martin Allison has a Preset Pack that you can buy that I believe has some really great Synth presets. I don't use Synth sounds much, preferring to do it with a Mc Millan 12-step and my ipad, but those guys are a great place to start. If you want to build a preset yourself, I believe Distortion/Overdrive into a Filter and then some Delay is the generally viewed signal path.
Using the Helix foot switches to start, stop, and record REAPER makes life in the home studio sooo much simpler.
I use my HX Stomp as a complete bass rig and it is perfect in all situations.
I use my iPad with a McMillan 12 step, but this will work amazingly well for keyboard players as well.
Most excellent information, things I have not thought of. Food for thought. Great information.
Awesome!!! Glad you liked it and thanks for watching.
Just watching helix stomp pedal videos and randomly came across this! Me and my pregnant girlfriend met you at the winery dogs gig in Bristol, uk last year, how random 😂 hope you’re keeping well 🎸🤘
Hey!!! Really great to hear from you!!! That was an awesome night and you guys were great to hang out with!!! Did you have the baby yet?
why its just 360P?
Sorry, not sure what you are referring to?
He talking about video resolution :) @@twistieonbass
@@KwusheR thanks :-) not sure. It was definately uploaded at higher res.
Thanks man! There's so much info on this video. Really helped me troubleshoot my setup.
Awesome!!! Glad you got something out of it.
What are the two right side pedals?
Hi!! The two footswitches on the HX Stomp are from Pedalnetics (pedalnetics.com/product/helauxy-duo-mini/). The other two devices on the right of the pedal board are the Line 6 Relay G10S wireless. I use two as my Yamaha Attitude has two outputs.
What is a Helix?
Hi. Line 6 Helix is an amp and effects modelling platform for guitars and bass.
Thanks for this! How good is the pitch shifter on bass?
Hey!! Thanks for the feedback. I often use the pitch shifter (Pitch Wham) to drop from E to Eb tuning and I find it works great. I have a video on that coming out soon. The PolyCapo, PolyPitch and PolyWham are outstanding, but each of those does consume a fair bit of DSP depending on what else you have going on in your patch.
Good video I’m starting with bass at home
Awesome!! Have fun!!
"promosm"
Awesome
Great video man!
Thanks very much. I hope you got some value from it.
Very well played my friend! I love your sound!! Keep the covers coming!!🎸🎅🎄
Thanks very much for the feedback!! Very much appreciated. Any recommendations?
Nice job!
Thanks heaps!!! Can’t wait for their new album this year
I like the lyrics in that song. Good job, that's a hard song to sing.
Thanks very much for the feedback. In retrospect, I probably should have dropped half a step, but I got a bit confident on the get go :-)
