Love 8 & 16 bit micro’s, then welcome home!
At RetroB8 I stick to what I know, my passion for all 8 & 16 bit micro's and a few consoles.
Based in the Highlands of Scotland in my shed, I try to give you a varied view of the 8 and 16 bit micros, Commodore, Spectrum, and Amstrad, Amiga 1200 & CD32
Next is the console era with the Master System, NES and lesser known C64GS and GX4000.
Next chronologically are the MegaDrive/Genesis and the SNES, then of course the N64 and Saturn followed lastly by the Dreamcast and GameCube.
I also enjoy handheld systems, these include but are not limited to the Gameboy (various revisions) Atari Lynx and GameGear.
Future videos will include-
C64 Top 10’s
Amiga Top 10’s
PS1 Top 10’s
Retro Quest Live streams, a monthly 8&16 bit micro related magazine style stream with OSG and guest.
Spectrum NEXT/N-GO
Modern gaming via the PS5 and Nintendo Switch
Probably some red wine 🍷

So far so good! I sent mum a picture of the fish I caught, hopefully she can show you! ❤️
Hope you had a good time at your nanas ❤️
Horse: Why bother?
So many good games out there, it would be hard for me to pick just 10.
It’s tough sometimes mate, would be easier to do a 20 haha
Great games, Thanks for the Video.
My pleasure, hopefully get back to making some more soon!
The fact was I was actually holding a cookie😂😂
Well, I mean no real surprises there lass! ❤️

Wait rlly?
I just bought one "used" for 130€, with all accessories. I'm waiting for it.
You won’t be disappointed, I seen someone put a post on Facebook earlier I wonder if that was you!
@@Retro_B8 Not me on FB but thanks for the comment. I still have the "rubber key one" from my childhood but it becomes so old, each time I start it, I'm thinking "this is the last time", I prefer to use a reborn version. I did the same with my C64, I bought the C64 maxi, and I'm very happy with it, and for the price of 1, I have 2, a C64 and a VIC20.
@@mmadmic totally agree, they all have their place. The ease of access using the maxi and the ngo make me use them more!
The Spectrum Next version is far better.
Waaaaaaaaaa waaaaaaaaaa waaaaaaaaaa
I hope you were able to play C64 Aliens game based on the movie. That game was so much fun back in the day.
Gotta tell ya as a seasoned C64 user (52 years old rn) there was only 3 games in your list that I rate. Elite (yes I am, thank you), Yosagi Youimbo, and Turrican II. I can whip Turrican II with 17 lives remaining. But then again, I'm an old bastard with plenty of practice :P Keep on doing what you're doing. Peace brother.
Agree with Eagles Nest. My top 5 1) Into the Eagles Nest 2) International Karate 3) Magic Land Dizzy 4) Pit Stop 2 5) Contra
zool is much smoother than this, i blame the video recorder
This has to be one of the top reasons i hate Lois. She literally laughs at megs loss.
Bogus List! Fake News! Where is EA's Mail Order Monsters?
Loved watching it casted back good old childhood memories. Thanks!
He just tripled

What's amazing about this "top 100" list is that there were so many games made for the C64 (over 5000) that even this list is missing DOZENS of my all-time favorite titles. :)
Who didn't play strip poker hoping for good cards for hours? 😂
I loved Frankie Goes to Hollywood, I spent many hours trying to complete it, awesome unique game including many mini games and a great soundtrack. For budget games I'd choose Action Biker for £1.99, took me many hours practicing until I finally completed it and it really felt like an achievement. Both 1985 released games.
Can someone help ne? I am searching for an Amiga- Game of the early 90s where you Walk through an Animal ode human corps. You meet the Heart, the Brain etc as Bosses to Battle with. It is Like an Labyrinth and sometimed you run through a Tunnel That Looks Like bones and Muscels. Dies anyone know?
Hmm, nothing springs to mind. What genre would best describe the game?
Excellent stuff. The C64 was right there with the NES in the 90s. These games exceeded expectations and were a testament to the programmers. Not bad for a machine that came out around the time the Atari 2600 was still kicking around. Oh, and then there was Turrican…
Osoba która napisała muzykę do "Commando" i "Giana Sisters" powinna dostać Nobla Jobla czy jak tam to się nazywa
Where is Maniac Mansion? 😰😨😧😲
Ah back then I didn’t even know it existed! If these were best overall games then it would probably be no1 but I just never played it back then so couldn’t include it. I really missed out on a classic back then. I love it now of course!
That time when Mario and Luigi ran track for Konami on the Commodore 64.
Haha, it could definitely be those two couldn’t it!!
Cenobites just REALLY like puzzle boxes, Y’know?
La actuación más dura que he visto en mi vida JAJAJAJA Igual es parte del personaje supongo
He has a way with words haha!
This music is just stunning .games hard as nails but great too
Yeah this one was real tough, as you say though, that music was amazing!!
One of my best memories from the C64 when I was a kid. 😊
Yeah it was an amazing conversion, still good these days as well mate
Great list again. Moved over to the Amiga, so played some of these games on that machine. The list shows how much more the programmer’s got out of the C64 towards the end of its lifespan. Looking forward to a Wonder Years for the Amiga?
Thanks Mark! Yeah I’ve got memories of both as well and I get mixed up a bit I think I was at a crossover point, but as you say every last ounce of power was being squeezed from the C64 at this point especially if you compare these to games released early on! Haha, yep definitely in the pipeline, not sure what year to start with though maybe 1988ish as that’s when I think I started playing Amiga at my mates house after school!
What’s the Song name of #72 fort apocalypse (20:45) , can’t find it, it’s not the games theme, like it lol help 😅
The one in between the games? If so that’s commando music by Rob Hubbard mate!
@@Retro_B8 thank you appreciate it, what times they was 😁
@@TheUndertaker19 no worries mate, it’s actually been remixed as well I used it for the intro music, I think the link is somewhere in the description. They really were mate, great memories!
There are great shmups games on C64. I bought a Breadbin model recently and some Titles like DNA Warrior, Hades Neblua, IO, Armalyte, Inner Space and Zybex. What a great computer for shoot’em up games. Solid list ! I’ll also buy Denaris, the original version of « Katakis » before the juridic trouble with Irem…I recorded Métal Dust at 100% really a masterpiece for SuperCPU. You also can add : Neagox, Apoxoly, Cyberdyne, Rétrograde, Delta, Sanxion, Zynaps, Firetrack, Bedlam, Uridium
Sorry a mistake : Katakis is the original version ! Denaris is the second release who followed one year later during the R-Type controversy with Activison…and that get Manfred Trenz to the R-Type port on C64 and Amiga !
Flight sims on C-64 usually run at 4-5 FPS 😁 To mitigate that, they would usually have sprites (missiles, aircraft, part of HUD ... ) at higher refresh rate. For us back then it was enough. In fact, it was not much better on Amiga 500 or even on a PC . Only later came games that would push boundaries up to 30 FPS (X-wing, Elite Frontier etc ... )
Yeah I have to agree, back then I didn’t really know any different. Maybe that’s why gunship nailed it, with helicopters being generally slower the frame rate was more forgiving?
@@Retro_B8 Gunship was great but I preferred F-14 Reason: it was mostly over sea, so you had just two vector parts , dark blue sea and light blue sky 😁 So it was fast and immersion was made by rich HUD . Similar method was used in ACE: Air Combat, blue sky, green earth and sprites between . Much better than games that attempted pure vector graphics.
THANK U VERY MUCH for the compilation !!!! That was nice :) memories over memories, all time favorites r wizball bruce lee maniac mansion zak mckracken california games skate or die :) oh man thanx again ;) cheers
Comments like yours make me happy to do this as my hobby! Thank you!!
The game was frustrating on the Amiga 😹, but the music 🎵🎶 is the best on the Commodore 64 😺👍🕹️. The movie was also cool 😺👍.
92% from Zzap!64 was way over the top. More like 72%. Never liked the split screen of Lotus. Always thought it was a complete waste.
Batman The Movie? Ski or die? Sierra games?
