Unfortunately with expensive home insurance but when disasters happened you can face challenges to claim insurances. Insurances don’t work on your best interest but their business first.
Finally, the local 1 or 2 location food purveyor has a chance. As for owners/managers worrying about losing customers, if the food is worth the price, the customers will stay. If not, that's not the state's fault. Also, maybe high prices will force families to learn how to cook and have dinner together. Hopefully the families won't resort to Nutella and white bread. Wait, what?? Was there no such thing as a title search done (before that realtor closed on the sale)? And how did the local building dept (who MUST have been required to review the houseplans in order to issue a bldg. permit) not cross-check the true ownership with the property-tax and zoning folks? I don't doubt this story at all; just seems like fault goes further than the developer itself.
