Jackrabbit Touring

Jackrabbit Touring

I post drone footage of landscapes in the southern end of California's Central Valley, though I'm hoping to expand my range soon.

I always pass by this when going through the area. Always wanted to know the story behind it.

Ever thought of getting a straight down video of the whole loop with a train on it?

It's never really occurred to me. I'm not sure what elevation I would have to achieve to get a shot like that, but it would be high.

What is usually in the fiends. With the raised roads, it looks like those fields are meant to hold water.

You got me there. I've never actually been out there except for this one day, so I don't know if they normally keep this area flooded or if there's usually something else here.

Scenic drive. So about an hour drive. How many miles?

  • @jackrabbit_touring

The drive in the video is about 44 miles. That was actually just one leg of what ended up being about a 185 mile trip, heading east from Lake Isabella then south toward Mojave before looping back toward Bakersfield. I've got video of the drive from Isabella to Red Rock Canyon (another sixty miles) but I'm not sure if I want to post it; I think it's beautiful, but I'm not sure it would come through in a youtube video.

I like it when the takeoffs and landing are recorded. Nice tour of the loop, thanks! 😮

Glad you enjoyed! I wasn't sure about including takeoffs and landings in these videos but since this comment I've been leaving more of them in. If the videos don't have them going forward, it'll probably be because I recorded it as part of a longer flight.
