    I’m 60 been lifting just on 12 months, warm up set of 10 at 110 lb, then another 10 at 125lb, another 10 at 145lb, finish with 6 reps or failure at 155lb. Aiming to press my body weight of 205lb.

    Optimizing just means you get results faster. If you don't optimize, it doesn't mean you won't grow muscle, it just means it will be slower, but it will happen if you train to failure. I came to this conclusion after watching many videos - some of them contradicting themselves, but the thing they always have in common is to be consistent, to have proper form and train to failure.

    The whole ‚x is killing your gains‘ video genre that started in the last decade is to blame for our collective anxiety related to nonstop workout optimization. Great for channel and revenue growth, terrible for the bodybuilding scene.

  • @GDRobbye
    @GDRobbye3 күн бұрын

    Well, they're not wrong, but what they don't mention is that muscle will grow anyway, just slower than expected. Back in the day there wasn't so much science and info around workouts and yet people still got jacked.

    Sincerely believe that if a person does the most barebones BS program but is consistent and trains hard he'll do miles better than if he were to pick the most "optimal" program but not push himself

    Thanks for the video. I was always worried that I'm pretty weak, especially when listening to other people's numbers, although I think many are exaggerated! But after watching this, for someone at 42 years old who rarely lifts weights, I think 188lbs at 165lbs bodyweight isn't too bad. I'd probably dare to go a bit heavier too if I had a spotter 👍

    Italian doctors often tell patients to do long walks.. Since my daily 800 m fast jogging is not making me slim I guess I'll try walking till I get bored. Let's see... I will update this comment in 30 days. See you there

  • @ONDANOTA
    @ONDANOTA4 күн бұрын

    Feeling GREAT but weight is the same. I don't care because endorphines make me not. I walk some 1km then I feel the need to jog fast going uphill, so I do it for some 50m then walk then jog fast again according to my needs. Counting in my weight in fat (which makes it a weighted walk ((the fact that it's inside you doesn't make it any lighter))), the fact that I go uphill for the whole way back makes it the equivalent of 5km. Cold water soaked t-shirt, soaked hat and there we go. The emotional gains are evident. I feel so much better without that soreness that jogging fast gave me each night. This is something I can do daily. My pecs look leaner. Belly fat is the last to go away

    Oh my Gracious, I gave you chance after chance to be a respectful reviewer and I've had enough. You are nothing more than a Major Fitness commercial, an infomercial. You are a guy who sold out to the 1st company that sent him free stuff. I have a friend reviewer and he explained to me how Major Fitness works. How you have to sign papers saying you will promote them and give them positive reviews. You are a sell out guy and I tried to like you but I can't. You put in your gym all Major Fitness stuff because they sent it free to you. Dont drop over 300 lbs. on the safeties. Everytime I watch a video from you, it is about Major Fitness. Unsubscribing now You are better than this, stand up, have a backbone!!!!!!!

  • @ScienceBasedFitness
    @ScienceBasedFitnessАй бұрын

    I'm sorry you feel this way. I've had companies send me equipment in the past and I didn't promote it because I didn't like it. I understand, I've gotten away from some of my traditional videos. I've turned down 2 companies in the last few weeks because I don't want to turn into an infomercial for fitness equipment. I personally love all of this equipment I'm promoting. If I didn't, I wouldn't make these videos. I'm creating all these videos for search traffic so when people want to learn more about the equipment and it can send me sales threw affiliate links. I don't make much on YT and this something that's going to help the channel grow and make quality videos.

  • @ScienceBasedFitness

  • @bobbyhunt3009

    @@ScienceBasedFitness Why not review all equipment from all companies. To start a youtube home gym equipment review channel you must have enough money laid aside to buy equipment to review. Then companies see you and start sending free stuff. You dont just run with the 1st company that sends free stuff and then only review their equipment. That is a bad idea and you will lose subs, like you lost me. I'm just helping you man, a little constructive criticism. Take my advice, you could be a big time reviewer, you seem kind but right now we all see you as a Major Fitness puppet, nobody wants to watch that. How many views are you getting, not many. Buy the New Titan barbells and review them, nobody has reviewed them, but some new equipment and review it. You seem nice that is why I watched for as long as I did but I am sorry I can't take another Major Fitness commercial Take Care Man!!!!!! I Wish You Well!!!!!!

    I have exersized induced asthma, so running for me is extremely difficult. I can do a hiit style run on a treadmill (alone, in my garage, hyperventilating like a dying ungulate), facilitating my need to catch my breath before I can run for a short burst again. I have doubts that I am even reaching my vo max anyways since my asthma prevents me from pushing my body very far, since my lung airways close up so easily during cardio at pretty much any intensity. I usually opt for walking or cycling for my preferred cardio option
