The people I find that are the kindest and closest to God is Deists. They know there's a higher power, but aren't ignorant enough to follow a doctrine. They believe in science and God at the same time. Those people are the best to be around. They feel the universe and express it with an open mind to learning. Religion is new and manmade. God is forever and all encompassing.

He is wrong, again. He (Tom) always starts from a premisse (god exist) that he can not provide evidence for. The idea of a god is based upon indoctrination. We are not Born with the idea of a god. Atheism is a position, it has no doctrine nor does it makes claims. It is only a position that we do not believe the claims of the bible or that a god (any god) exists.

If Christ died for everyone's sin, it would mean that everybody's debt was paid for. But when those who don't believe, then the price of their sin suddenly falls on them again. Leading into what you call double payment, making Jesus' sacrifice ineffectual.. I am torn because I do want to believe that Jesus died for everyone

If you read the context and surrounding verses you will see the following: Revelation 1 1 The revelation from Jesus Christ, which GOD GAVE HIM to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, 2 who testifies to everything he saw-that is, the word of God AND the testimony of Jesus Christ. (So God Gave the Revelation to Jesus and an angel was sent to relay it to John - also it differentiates the word of God and the testimony of Jesus)

In the same way......that same way according to the God ordained tithe. God had appointed time to bring the tithe of what was GROWN and the flocks of clean animals.....the same way is to take the tithe to Jerusalem and the Temple finally gave it to the Levites. A pastor that is edifying the people of God to become mature Christians able to minister in the work of the gospel. Yes in the O.T. the tithe was for the Levites and the poor..... not to build several temples and to be lovers of worldly materialism in a wealthy lifestyle.... like mansions.... luxurious cars ....jets ... jewelry. Yes a pastor who is following the truth of the Lord YAHUSHUA should be taken care of with givings from the people of God. The tithe was a law ...we should be giving with a heart of love towards God. The pastors must be Godly stewards......and they should never convince people that giving is a key to receive special favors from God. There are many practices that predates the law of Moses but are against the New Testament principles. Freewill offering makes a lot of spiritual sense in the context of the New Testament as you aren't under any form of compulsion, obligation or "curse" to give it or not. Freewill is also a response from the heart as against tithing which focuses on meeting an obligation. Tithing is legalistic and comes with a "curse"; so it becomes invalid today. Thanks be unto God; Christ, who hung on that cross has taken away the curse and all its handwritings-including tithing. Preachers should put their hands and their minds to work, just like Paul worked, and stop milking the poor in their Churches. This is detestable and against all that Christ came to do. Besides, Jesus spoke to those in the Old Testament and we can distinguish His words in different contexts. God is pleased when our giving reflects our love for Him, not forced. When you preach Christ, and Him alone, of a necessity, people will give to His course. Lastly, when I needed money and went to my pastor for financial help, he said, "Use your faith." When my pastor needed money, he came to me with threats of being cursed to demand for my tithes. But I repeated his very words, "Sir, you also need to use your faith."

I think a pastor should of course be paid well for the work he does and so should all his staff and volunteers but I don't like that for every block there are three buildings all requiring financing from their followers. Why can't one building be used for multiple churches? Also if I put in my first 10% a day to offer it to a pastor. Am I to think, everyday...okay let's get this bacon for pastor? I'd like to think a % yes a % for those who are seeking the Lord for a miracle and my tithe can help their miracle.

The pastors must be Godly stewards......and they should never convince people that giving is a key to receive special favors from God. Same way... lying or forcing people by twisting the sacred scriptures to place fear ... weights on the shoulders of GOD'S people.... telling them that they are cursed if they don't tithe..... YAHUSHUA'S crucifixion took the curse away.....and God hasn't given his people the spirit of fear especially from the pastor.

There are many practices that predates the law of Moses but are against the New Testament principles. Freewill offering makes a lot of spiritual sense in the context of the New Testament as you aren't under any form of compulsion, obligation or "curse" to give it or not. Freewill is also a response from the heart as against tithing which focuses on meeting an obligation. Tithing is legalistic and comes with a "curse"; so it becomes invalid today. Thanks be unto God; Christ, who hung on that cross has taken away the curse and all its handwritings-including tithing. Preachers should put their hands and their minds to work, just like Paul worked, and stop milking the poor in their Churches. This is detestable and against all that Christ came to do. Besides, Jesus spoke to those in the Old Testament and we can distinguish His words in different contexts. God is pleased when our giving reflects our love for Him, not forced. When you preach Christ, and Him alone, of a necessity, people will give to His course. Lastly, when I needed money and went to my pastor for financial help, he said, "Use your faith." When my pastor needed money, he came to me with threats of being cursed to demand for my tithes. But I repeated his very words, "Sir, you also need to use your faith."

I think a pastor should of course be paid well for the work he does and so should all his staff and volunteers but I don't like that for every block there are three buildings all requiring financing from their followers. Why can't one building be used for multiple churches? Also if I put in my first 10% a day to offer it to a pastor. Am I to think, everyday...okay let's get this bacon for pastor? I'd like to think a % yes a % for those who are seeking the Lord for a miracle and my tithe can help their miracle.
No where in the New Testament does JESUS say to tithe
The comments here show that people are actually studying their Bibles, tired of being swayed to and fro by doctrines that have no foundation in Christ's redemptive work. Tithing is absolutely irrelevant today, just as sacrifices of bulls and goats.
