So confusing watching someone screwing things when the video is mirrored... 😅

never use redguard. NOT UNLESS YOU APPLY IT CORRECTLY. typically 4 to 5 coats, mill gauge tests and 6" fiberglass at all seams. for the cost and time, just put on kerdi. IMO that looks terrible so far. So sorry for your customers.

Doesn’t look terrible at all, you’re being a hater for no good reason. Red guard is a tried and true method and the “old school way” which is still used to this day. A lot of us were taught and have been doing bathrooms from way before all the new waterproofing methods.

No. I'll be installing matching 3/4 inch quarter-round trim which will give it a nice finish.

@@AmericanWayHandymanServicesNJ Okay, I've just never seen it used as a tub surround. Or is Schluter matt going on over that? I guess I should have asked if there was a tile surround going in or maybe some other sort of three-piece plastic unit. Then I could see it working ok.

I used 1/2 in mold resistant (green board) on the walls. I then applied RedGard waterproofing to seal it. I'll be installing 12 x 24 porcelain tile over that with 1/8 grout joints.
