Steve has never really been able to play the guitar. Cant keep time, never been able to. The pretending was pretty annoying at times. The “I was in a band whenI was a kid” was a fable too. He even admitted it on the air once.

I remember him calling into the Hollies when they were touring through Chicago and one of them called him on it. "You're not really a guitar player, are you." I guess he could play, just not well.

Oh wow. This brings back memories. I worked in the WYIN control room between 2001-2003, and this was the end of my working day for the first year of that. IIRC the sign-off video changed in 2002 after we begged management to let us retire this ancient video for something a little more modern. Thanks so much for posting!

I think it's here. Ask the seller to check. I recall the print was small and tipped on the verso like a stamp collector would hang a stamp so it's not glued to the page. www.ebay.com/itm/175621092334 While I was looking for this, I'm seeing other books from that period that include woodblock prints in them. May have been a thing for a few years there.

What a telling clip,even 15 years later Ray is as fun and personable as ever(even with the duck!),while Sarat and his wannabe co-host are as fun as was watching paint dry.I can only imagine nobody else showed up when they auditioned,they remind me of that other Chicago snorefest George Wendt...but Ray Rayner was one of a kind,a gem!

I remember hearing this live at the time, and for some reason I had recorded it onto my boombox back in 1983, I used to listen to this clip over and & over and we would just crack up. This is one of their best bits --- brings back great memories. I am so glad I found it!!

Seeing the animated kaiju and star wars ships is great and all, but I'm more surprised and thrilled to see the Martian War Machines from War of the Worlds 1953 make a couple of cameos in their animations. Great stuff.
