Very interesting seeing some of the comments and stories under this video. The sea can be a scary place. Staying calm is a great tip but damn that becomes hard when you can't breath for a solid 30 seconds and you are unnable to tell which way is up from so many spins.

You and thousands of others are saying the same thing. Surfing has become so overcrowded and commercialized unless you are a big name contest winner and have a popular KZread channel and are seen in the line up daily you better be a major major ripper or you’ll be lucky to get one wave all day. People are flying to Hawaii daily thinking they will surf these spots only to find out exactly what I’m telling you. Why am I telling you? Because I grew up in Hawaii and surfed Pipeline and all the other spots on the island in the 70s when 15 guys out was a crowd. There was no internet and we didn’t really like contests because we knew it would lead to exactly what it has. The commercialization of surfing, 200 guys in the water and scenarios as I just described. Good luck.

@thelastrebelshow1627 Yeah, I know, it was something I wanted to try when I turned 18 and can go there legally. But that's true. Surfing is really going down the hole.
