Would you count Barrage, Ransack, Venom, and Chop Shop from 1985 as Insecticons? I don't remember ever seeing them in the cartoons. It was always Kickback, Bombshell, and Shrapnel.
I would DEFINITELY count them as legitimate insecticons! But because they came later and aren’t nearly as celebrated as the original 3, there’s a bit of a divide between them I think. I did have a Chop Shop as a kid and loved him
@@retrospectia They wouldn't be on my wish list if I were a G1 Transformers collector. The original 3 were the most remembered. I would only want those because they were in the cartoons.
Theory: The turbines are part of an air conditioning system for Dusty so that he doesn't sweat his ass off while he's sitting inside Billboard Blast waiting for his chance to pop the side panels down and spring into action. :)

oh the struggles of being a collector lol. Wanting to play with my toys but having to constantly remind myself to take care because most are old and rare, i bought them with my own sweaty money and most of them are really expensive and not replaceable because if it breaks it's broken, one little piece of history gone

The guy who you make out of extra parts is sixgun. The tanks name is slammer.
The toys definitely got crappier with Transformers the Movie. The characters also got a lot more eccentric. Optimus Prime and Megatron definitely kept their troops in line. After them both factions were literally an island of misfit toys.
I always thought the Omnibots looked cool as a kid. I wish they would have included them on the show...

I enjoyed the thunderhawk that i had. I would often put a venom guy on the tail spoiler and hit the button for the wings and eject him.
As an 80's kid I can confirm WRECK-GAR is Awwesome!!! Junkions were the Schizz! We should have gotten more Junkion episodes. You talk some TV?

Alas, not yet :/ But definitely will! I sidetracked myself too much with unfocused collecting and too many lines. Picking back up with TMNT is what I’m hoping to do this summer!

I loved this line and had them all in 1985! So bummed that it was so quickly discontinued. I had doubles and even triples of figures since they broke easily. I have a full set now!

Hey, for the Masterverse Grizzlor the legs can shift up or down in the crotch/hips. That may be the reason for the length discrepancy, so just try pushing the “longer” one upward into the hip. Hope that helps!

Yes that breaking point is the car roof where it attaches to the robot head. My original Prowl, Jazz and Smokescreen all broke at that particular point.

Cyclonus is among my faves in the Decepticon ranks as well! In a way I wished they kept his 'toy' color scheme in the movies and cartoons. 👍

Manta is definitely in the running for my favorite MASK vehicle of all time (tough to beat Jackhammer, though). Everything just pops perfectly on Manta...a must have.
No one knows who Cyclonus is, as both Bombshell and Skywarp became separate Cyclonuses, one of which just disappears.
Obviously Bombshell became Galvatron, Shrapnel became Cyclonus, Kickback became Scourge, and those three other guys became the Sweeps

The comics portrayed him the way he was always meant to be Anywhere but the cartoon Shockwave is an incredibly cool character

I had like 3 of these when I was younger. The latches on the doors would break and not stay shut. After buying the 3rd one I was like if I want to play with it in car mode I'll just rubber band it shut lol.
I loved the havoc when I was a kid. It was my favorite. I had the Sky Patrol verison not the original though. I remember going to pick out the original or tomahawk. I picked Havoc got it home and it was missing one of the treads. Took it back and got Tomahawk because they were sold out of Havoc. Talk about being destroyed as a kid.

My local Walmarts had bunches of them on clearance. Grabbed one for $11 and another for $15 at a different one.
The character was very different in the original Marvel run of the comics. More menacing!
I think that my only real gripe with Meteor is that the original fighter jet form seems a lot more useful than the battle mode(s). Good review.
