    Canucks gave up a first and second to get Hronek. A rare right hander . Lindholm, too expensive.

    If Hronek does come back (ideally at a reasonable cap hit), he's going to need some media training and some serious PR rehab (ie Canucks in Cars, pre-scripted interviews).

    The real question is, are the Canucks better off getting a top 6 winger for Pettersson, bringing back Zadorov and Joshua, and signing Pesce for Quinn Hughes? 8x8 for a guy who says he wasn't injured but was invisible in the 2nd half and the playoffs is pretty rich. I'd rather pay 5x5 or 5x6 to Zadorov, who is physical and a playoff performer and save the 2-3 million towards plugging another hole in the lineup.

    I'm happy to hear that the Canucks finally locked down Petey! On a reasonable amount! Thought I was misreading the amount when I woke up today because I was pretty sure he would be signing for 12+ m / year. This is night and day different from the previous FO group.

    Mangiapane has not played one game as good as he played in his contract year. He signed and does not put in the work to reach his contract level. I think it does not matter what happens with the rest of the team. Mangiapane needs to go take his lack luster effort to another team or a major discount. Perhaps 3mil/year on 2 year contracts.

    Kevin talks about goaltender interference and “Ryan Getzlaf” run into Talbot… let me correct that. That was Ryan Kesler holding Talbots pad as Rickard Rakell (on his birthday) scores with like 16 secs left in a 3 goal comeback in 3 minutes 16 seconds in game 5- often referred to as “Comeback On Katella”. Now let me be clear, as a ducks fan I do not believe that should have counted, but I’ll take it. That was a wild moment. Oilers also had a whole overtime and a half to win, unfortunately for them, Matt Benning coughed up the puck to Getzlaf and he gave it cross crease to Perry to finish the game. Hopefully this helps clear things up. P.S Kevin, I dunno if you mixed up “Ryan’s” or because it involved Rickard Rakell that you didn’t remember correctly, but I forgive you either way😂

    I completely disagree with Sean. 1) Kadri did put up ppg in his lockout season in Toronto so he obviously has that potential. 2) The role he played in Toronto was unique as a 3rd line shut down center putting up back to back 30 goal seasons. He wasn't even given top minutes. 3) He is a playoff ppg player which is more important I think Kadri has the potential to put up 80 pts + assuming he doesn't get injured I think Kadri will get close to 80. I honestly think it depends on his role in Calgary. Also he has surpassed Lindholm in terms of career best in points. Last thing I'll say is yes, Colorado was an offensive juggernaut, however, Kadri was a big reason of that. He led team in assists for a long time while Mackinnon, Landy, etc missed a big chunk of the season. Imo, Avs couldn't have won the Stanley cup without Kadri. But he has the potential to reach 100 points, this depends on the coaching staff uses him.

  • @ShiftsandPucks
    @ShiftsandPucks Жыл бұрын

    Yes, in the shortened 2012-13 season Kadri produced at a 0.92 Pts/GP rate, I missed that. Kadri played on a more offensive minded team in Colorado last season, and got a lot of time on the top line when Mackinnon was injured. Darryl and the Flames will be focused on defense first. I'm not sure Kadri will get the same strength of line mates he had last season and is going to be playing a 2nd line role 5 on 5. I think he's going to be a very useful player and putting up 60+ points as a 2nd liner is very good production. - Sean

    Dube has more offensive up side then Coleman. His break out season is coming. Also I think we should keep Lucic. We will need his toughness when playing teams like EDM. Zadorov can't handle Kane and Kassian. We already lost Gudbranson

    Not saying a whole lot...your defense was your biggest issue last yr. It's why I picked Edmonton to upset you,(though I didn't think it'd be in 5)-& lose to my Avs. Your defense lack of skating ability got badly exposed vs Edmonton. It's still not good enough.

    To be honest I don't have much faith that anything will change. None of these changes would be happening if these cases hadn't come to light. HC clearly thought it was better to treat the symptoms rather than look at the root of the problem.

    If I'm Calgary,I'm not trading him for somebody like Tarasenko,with 1 yr left. Who knows if it's true,but I heard Calgary may have turned down Robert Thomas,Krug,& a few picks-maybe to keep from trading him within the west. I do think you factor that in-but you don't completely rule it out-you take the best deal. If it's close-im moving him East. As Colorado fan-I hope you do trade him East,but if I'm Calgary-thats the kind of deal I'm looking for. As long as at least 1 of the picks is 1st rounder-maybe you'd want 2 even. But a good young player like Thomas-whos over 1 pt per game last yr,& signed for 7 or 8 yrs,so he can't just leave-like Tarasenlo could. But tough spot to be in-I do feel for Flame fans. Amazing how quickly things changed,after you won game 1 vs Edmonton 9-6. Seems like everything fell apart since that after that game. Could be worse,like WPG-with 3 selfish cancers as your "leaders"-like Scheflie,Wheeler,& Dubois. But other than Jet fans,I feel more for Flame fans,than probably any fan base right now.

    Ya without Gudreau-Flames aren't a top tier Cup contender anymore. Ya kinda weren't last yr. I thought ya were in reg season,but I did say your over rated,kinda slow blueline would be your undoing-especially if you faced my Avs. Turns out,it didn't even take facing the Avs...the Oilers 4 man team (or 5 I guess-Mcdavid,Drasaitil,Kane,Nuge,& Hyman)-torched that slow blueline.Now without Johnny-no way that team is top tier even in the West. Maybe a playoff team,cuz Sutter is such a good coach. But that roster as it sits today ain't winning 3 rounds even in the inferior west,unless Markstrom morphed into Patrick Roy foe 2 months,& even then...

    Never saw Orr in real life, but I agree if Avs win the cup going to be hard to NOT make the argument that Makar is one of the greatest D men since him especially at his age. Never seen anything like it in my hockey watching career.

  • @roberteaston6413
    @roberteaston6413 Жыл бұрын

    When Bobby Orr broke into hockey not all NHL games were put on film. This was especially true in non-hockey markets such as Oakland or Los Angeles. The result is that some of Orr's greatest plays are forever lost to us. The difference between Orr and Makar is that people knew from a young age is that Orr was going to be a great player. With Makar it took a while for him to be the great player that he is. Nobody spotted Makar at age 12 and said that he was going to be the best defenceman in the NHL someday.
