Banger video! Loved hearing your perspective. I think Dragon-type in Gen 1 was a gameplay balance addition moreso than a special, legendary type to show off to your friends at recess. You can find some dragons throughout your adventure, like Charizard, Gyarados, or Aerodactyl, but then Lance pulls out a monster that resists Grass, Water, and Fire. In one of the final fights of the game, your ability to determine the weaknesses and resistances of newly encountered Pokémon is tested. I personally just don't think GAME FREAK was stingey to maintain an image of prestige, or at the very least, this wasn't considered before gameplay considerations.
I like this new starters because the other starters looked like normal pokemons like w ratata i'm not joking
So many people in this commont are misses the point a pocket monster that does not mean that it feels any different just because it has a job it's a standard look of a Pokemon design not some feeling natural nonsense it doesn't have to be one to one animal.
I completely ignored XY and SM had intros like that. I always saw the title screen and assumed that was it

I love the Scarlet & Violet loading screen. Something about it makes the game better for me. The calming ambience, and then the sound effect when it jumps to life from you entering the game. Followed by most likely great vibes and music when you enter into the world.
Love how you described a lot of my old games with their intros pieces or demos when you wait on the title screen long enough. 👍

Gen 3 was my least favourite
Gen 1 and 2 were the best then Pokemon fell off gen 3 and then greninja and talonflame brought it back
And Pokemon horizons is a great anime

maybe its just me but i really like the one for sword and shield after you beat the game, something about seeing my character with my team standing in the stadium is just so cool

Yeah, I open up my old Pokemon games and play them for nostalgia, and I can tell you, it's truly magical watching that opening every time.😊❤😊

Magician, singer and dancer? Wtf did they do to the pokemon series Im glad i grew up with the original pokemon. The newer the pokemon the more stupid they get.
I was with you until you got to Gen 6. After that, i feel like you lost the plot a bit with your interpretations of the design inspirations. Decidueye is ghost type because the type of owl it is based on was native to Hawaii but went extinct. and the reason why the legends arceus version loses that type is because its from the past when the species still existed. Incineroar is a nod to the meme that all starters were being fighting types, the dark type is because incineroar is a 'heel' or a wrestler that plays the villain to get the crowd going and for them to cheer on the 'good guy' The Galar trio are based on popular aspects of UK pop culture, to match the theme of the region. Football, rock music and James Bond/spy films. Paldean starters lean into the glits and glam of terrastalization, the bright lights like a show in vegas. Popular forms of entertainment in a place like Vegas include magicians, showgirls and singers. The crocs design uses a pattern on its back that mimics what a concert seating arrangement looks like, e.g, when you're online trying to book a ticket. And the little flaming chicken is the singer on the stage in front of the audience

Openings that end with the legend's silhouette were really top of the line. Every opening has their own unique twist. I always tried to press start when Pikachu blinked on yellow version lol. Great video as usual. Keep 'em coming 🤙🏽

Honorable mentions definitely need to go to Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers Of Time/Darkness/Sky, Pokemon Conquest, and Pokemon Battle Revolution. Granted, Battle Revolution was the least spectacular of the group. But it still did a great job of showing off what to expect in the game! I miss being able to load a new game for the first time and being able to watch these intros before starting it.
Absolutely, I’d love to do a follow up video for the spin off intros cause I didn’t even think to cover those, would’ve doubled the work load for this though lol
