thank you, i've finally decided to sell it and yes it was 9 months work mostly hand no machine! i havn't had any interest as yet since putting it on sale 2 months ago, but then i'm very small in height and other proportions, so it makes it very difficult. I only had one person on complain at the price who obviously has never made a garment of any kind in their life. I have explained my asking price is cheap compared to if they asked somebody to make this even as a professional you would be looking into the thousands of uk pounds that is for custom made to fit dress.as most of it was not something you can do on a machine. I know it will take a very very long time to sell or may never sell but i want to try. Even for a wedding or somebody who wants a vintage itallian renaissance style wedding dress who's as small as me would suit for that occasion. lets face it if you've seen the film then it was danielle's mothers wedding dress. I'm selling a few costumes, so much appreciated for your comment. best wishes Tracy :)

@@michelemccarthy6897 thank you we (my mother chris & i) do state a difficulty level on your website tutorials, and this one is not for beginning. A lot of people come along who have never even used a machine or had basic lessons in sewing and understanding techniques/fabrics etc which takes months to years to learn, think they can tun out something just from a 30 minute video, in whihc people often don't explain in such craft videos how long they have been doing this. Some people come along try to follow our videos and say they can't do it or no working out, but then explain they have never sewed anything and wonder why it didn't turn out like the video. So then we get down to it, they just didn't understand how complicated these things are to make and not only that prepare, as often we do many practice runs, not shown in the videos. there are often many ways you can sew something, we show what worked for us and never say it is the correct way. We are so happy it helps people as mentioned i know what it's like when the only person who has worked a certain part out and how to make & sew it, is a business and they won't help you. I myself find following written tutorials hard, i need it hands on in front of my face, though our generation isn't taught these skills any more in school. If you do find a course going it's often to far away from your location and or will cost you a fortune just for one lesson :( We believe this information should be free to people to not only try and help them understand how involved these things are to make but plan, so it's an education as well. I often share a post on my facebook page showing disney's live action cinderella and her big blue dress, the title says "can you make me this for $50) Due to many not knowing why a custom made gown made to movie/theatre quality is so expensive, some people really do mock high prices with no understanding what so ever. It's our pleasure indeed, although mum is now retied and i'm also starting to get on a bit, i hope to make anther this year. :) kind wishes and happy sewing from & chris :)

your welcome, at the time we did not own a camcroder so did not do any filming we did the written tutorials for my website, but we had many asking us for a more visual tutorial of this part. The only thing that gave it away in the film was when Giselle (Amy Adams) had been walking through new york city, then at night it all went quite after everyone goes home and she was walking up the subway steps and the wind was blowing her ruffles. We slowed the dvd down to one second frame moving the image a still photo at a time to try see what was happening and we could see a seam, indicating the ruffles had been sewn into seams. but you could if you wanted to just sew the ruffles onto a skirt that isn't made into sections. It makes mum & I so happy even all these years later that people are still noticing our work and that it helps people. best wishes Tracy :)

arh that is so nice, my mum made this one her self for my brother many years ago, she did all the videoing herself as she went along. usually we do it together on my own costumes princess dresses, but she did this all on her own, trying to film and describe at the same time. From making many things over the years, we know how hard it is to find help to make thins properley and do it right. a lot of places/courses charge huge amounts of money just for days worth of sewing lessons, we feel this information should be free to all. Some of the time we ourselves have had to find some help. It's such a pleasure indeed and no problem at all, sometimes in written form i'ts not easy to understand, I myself often need it visually or I have trouble. take care and happy sewing form Tracy & Chris my mum. :)

Did the crystals stay on the wig, or do they start to fall off after a while? I've tried gluing mine onto my wig by hand but the glue seeps out a bit and gets stuck in the wig hair, and the crystals keep falling off, so I'm wondering if hotfix crystals would be a better option 😊

  • @Traybuff

Hello,I sold these shoes a few months ago, the sequins are only glued on with hot glue, it took 2 of us to do it as the glue dries realy quick, you need one to hold thr shoes while one runs a bead of glue in a thin line, then quickly put the glue gun down and slapp on a line of strung sequins. I know the orignal pair had single sequins sewn onto fabric cover then the cover was sealed to the main shoe, but you need a special industrial machine for that. I can't actually wear shoes like this that have no lace up or buckles so it was made just for display at events we used to do many years. thanks for noticing my video and please check out my other videos, much appreacietd Tracy :)

I had hoped to re-make this one day, but alas i've had major health issue this last year. things are getting better now, but still not quite there yet, but hopefully one day. thanks for watching it's much appreciated. I struggle with written instructions or pictures, so this is why we do videos as well as written on my website. this will make mum's day, sometimes it's hard to explain via video but at least it's shown properly. gosh thank you, this was many years ago now, the first dress i could afford to cut on the bias cut rather than placing pattern pieces on the straight grain down the fabric, but it eats so much more fabric cutting it that way and creates slight stretch going across the dress, this also makes it kling much better to the body, the fabric was medium weight polyester crepe and feels soft and flowy and very klingy. If your not very experienced i think we did say to cut on the straight grain of fabric and skip the part about cutting on the diagonal grain of fabric. i could not of course have it look like those silly arm bands on the sleeves, they would of been liked were did them, everything was lace up, parts to other parts, all laced along arms or up legs or on the side. i took note from the film ever after a cinderella story, with Danielle when she wore the rags cinderella dress, you can see a silimar style of arm type guntlets, all tied together. mum & i thank you very much for your kind comment, it's much appreciated even years later, people still find them. I always knew I could not keep dressing up like a disney princess forever, at least not out in public events. kids will probably be thinking, she is a really old princess! (lol). I can still just about get away with it, but i think now i wil be doing maybe more period lady gowns rather than princess's. but in 2 weeks it will be our carnival day, i hope to do something disney whilst I still can. but as far as making them, these gowns are very complicated to make and take a lot of concentration and time and being physically able. thank you for asking that;s very kind. regards Tracy :)

I finished them and am pleased with the outcome. Thank you for your tutorial as I don't think I could have had the confidence to complete this project without your help. I didn't film the process, however, I took lots of photos along the way so maybe I'll do a tutorial from the things I learned through much trial and error. One mistake I didn't realize I had made until just today is that I bought "cupped sequins" instead of flat. I'm not sure why it didn't dawn on me earlier because I literally got out a kitchen rolling pin to try and flatten them. LOL. This was so tedious and time consuming I don't think I'd ever do it again. It's certainly not for anyone without focus and patience. I didn't use a glue gun, instead, I used E600 glue so there was some more working time before drying and I didn't need a second pair of hands. I lost my mother a long time ago, but I'd love to have a pair of shoes like yours made with a mother's love. Again, thank you so much for everything.

This video is 9 years ago but as it was my first time making pants a lot of the language was confusing you made a lot simpler and I'm not even through the entire video thank you so much

if your new to sewing it would be confusing and also new to making a particular item also would be confusing, if you want help please ask for it so it can be clarified also can be contacted though my website. Tracyscostumingworld. my mum made and videoed this and she knows all the technical sewing terms, which can also be confusing. most people don't video things and explaining things on a video is often very hard to do, but we do our best. regards Tracy
