Took my date to My Florist Cafe years ago and had heard rumors that Nicole could play some Mario Brothers music so I slid her a tip with my song request and walked back to my table. My date asked what I requested and I said, “Something romantic. We’ll see if she knows it.“ A few minutes later, Nicole Pesce surprised everyone with this masterpiece and my date was like 😑 and I was like 🤣😂🤪 Absolutely amazing performances and so cool to oblige too. I’m glad this video is online because otherwise folks often think I’m making these stories up! Thx for posting this!

They were fantastic. My favorites: Michael Ro. Terell stafford Byron Randy and the rest of them. It's hard to choose among's this group of extraodinary performers. My least favorite: Arturo, he's just not a pure jazz improviser as the rest.

Oh damn, this original version of "At Last" is wonderful. Then Etta James' version took it to another level as well. I was born in 1950, a bit too late for romantic music like this to be part of my youth. ... This was my parent's generation's music to fall in love to. Love it !

The trumpet player in this movie WAS Johnny Best, a member of the Glenn Miller orchestra. Ray Anthony was a member of Glenn Miller orchestra and played trumpet in the movie "Sunrise Serenade", but not Orchestra Wives.

What I remember most about the STP Turbine powered race cars, Is; there were 2 second generation STP Turbine cars. And Mario Andretti Was the driver of the #1 car. And in a single race he crashed his #1 car. Then Mario relived/took the #2 car from the assigned driver. And promptly crashed it into "Whoosh" the original STP Turbine powered race car. That was also on the track during that race. There by destroying all; 3 of the STP Turbine powered race cars in one single race. And that was basically the end of the STP Turbine powered race cars.

This is why the CDs in my car are 60+ years old! Several are by Jackie Gleason's wonderful "Music For Lovers Only" orchestra. And he, just so happens, plays the bass player in this movie!

The arranger actually created an up tempo version for the first Glenn Miller movie "Sunrise Serenade." It was performed by John Payne but didn't make the final cut of the film. This version made it into the second film. As for Etta James claiming it, well this movie came out better than 15 years before she revived it. Several songs performed by Miller and other Big Band leaders were revived in the rock era, Blueberry Hill just to mention one.

Brilliant, and very well done. I love musical humour. I prefer the Victor Borge exploration of this idea from 50 years ago, despite it's poor audio-visual quality.
