We see, we eat, we cook!
We're Alex and Mehmet, a couple who loves to travel and eat. We create videos showcasing our favorite food destinations and attempt to recreate the local dishes. Come along with us to discover some beautiful locations, learn about the local food and watch us cook.

The pastries at 04:29 look amazing, omg!
They were delicious!
Börek is Turkish no such thing as Croation börek
What size cake pan should be used, please?
I used a 24cm pan which results in a pretty thin cake. You could use a slightly smaller pan and get a thicker cake, it will just take about 5-10 minutes longer cooking time.
@@turkswhoeat thank you!!

Great dog parents. Thank you for sharing your joy.
Thank you!! We are very lucky dog parents😀
Good day neighbours. Glad you enjoyed your stay at our island. We have so much in common, we should build a Turkiye and Hellenic confederation. After all we exchange tourists for decades, many of our dishes and drinks are same or similar, we share temperaments in many cases. It's not just the earthquakes that bring us together, we're almost brothers and sisters. Actually I'm making halva while typing this. Cheers...
Hello! We had such a wonderful time on your beautiful island😊 And yes, we are so much alike! I think that is why we immediately felt at home in Greece. Enjoy your halva, sounds delicious!
Those pancakes are huge! 😂
They are pretty big! But thin so they are not overwhelming

There are so many restaurants in Chania but the ones that stood out to us and recommended by locals are: Chrisostomos - where many locals eat - within the Old Town but not on the water. Unique experience - great food. Oinopoieion - recommended by a number of locals and very good. Tamam - Fantastic food recommended to us by a number of locals. Gramvousa Restaurant near Balos Beach - incredible atmosphere, authentic, great food and one of the best food experiences we had in Greece. Reservations at these restaurants are always a good idea at all of the restaurants in Chania. They are good and busy for a reason. And, don't miss Balos Beach - this is one of the world's most unique beaches and absolutely stunning. We drove on a terrible road to the beach - to get there early - the views and experience were well worth the terrible drive. It's also accessible by ferry - but the ferry arrives later in the day and not quite the same experience. Elafonissi is a nice beach but nowhere near the beauty and experience of Balos.
Thank you so much these are amazing suggestions!! We definitely can’t wait to visit again and try them 😊. We’re also sad we didn’t make it to Balos beach, I think that might have been better than Elafonissi
@@turkswhoeat thank-you - this is just our experience. Elafonissi is great but Balos is just so unique and beautiful - and the restaurant - Gramvousa - is such a nice experience. Happy you enjoyed your trip. Greece is such a wonderful place to visit.
Amazing ! Thank you for sharing with us !😍❤️
Glad you enjoyed it!
Türkiye vs Georgia game was so entertaining, so cool you guys got to go!
It was a great match, we’re so glad we went!
Looks like an amazing time and what a match it was!!
It was soo much fun!!

Never used phyllo before, looks like a good excuse to start
Definitely!
How long did this take to make?
It only takes about 30 min to prep, but the custard takes a few hours to cool and you need to let the entire thing cool after it’s baked
That looks amazing!! Thanks for sharing 🤤
It’s delicious, let us know how you like it!
Bougatsa is a treasured dish in Greece and we enjoyed plenty of it during our visit! To learn more about this dish check out the history here www.tasteatlas.com/bougatsa#:~:text=Bougatsa%20has%20origins%20from%20the,%2C%20hand%2Dmade%20phyllo%20pastry.
No offence , but you look more Greek to me than Turks. I bet if you look your dna you 'll see a lot of Greek dna in you. Greetings from Greece.
Turks and Greeks lived together for centuries. That affected two nations dramatically, not only culturally but genetically too. Both nations will be shocked if they get their fully genetic results.
@taxos13 no offense taken! We also thought we looked very much alike, we are neighbors after all 🙂
' 8:52/11:31 anticristo=across to fire ,
Delicious!
I thought it was going to be harder to make to be honest, gotta give this a try!
Right!? It sounds so fancy but it's basically a grilled cheese!
Truffle croque monsieur sounds amazing!
It was :)
Hmm this is a great alternative way of cooking souvlaki, thanks for the idea!
You're welcome, let us know how you like it!
The food looks amazing in Greece, just wow!
Honestly, it is SO good, like unbelievable
Going to cook the chicken this way and make tacos with it haha
Yoooo that's a great idea
Lol, i've literally come back from Halkidiki to the UK less than two weeks ago, it was my 4th time going there and Sithonia. Spent time in beautiful Neos Marmaras as well. You should also visit Afytos which is on the first finger, a beautiful town.
Isn’t it so beautiful!! We haven’t been to Afytos but now we have an excuse to go back 😄
Nice report from Ghent, and I'm glad to see that you have well documented your way to visiting authentic places and not those fake ones, especially for tourists.
Thank you, we’re honestly so glad to hear that! We do a lot of research before travelling to try to find local places but sometimes it’s hard to tell. Let us know if there are any spots we missed!
Never heard of Halkidiki but looks beautiful! Really want those fried zucchini’s hahaha
They were sooo good! Honestly all of the good in Greece was great, definitely recommend it!
Siviri looks beautiful!!!
It was so beautiful, we’ve been thinking about it constantly since we’ve been back 😊

Belgium food paradise?😂 Come on please!
Hi @JACK-nv2ir 😊, we truly had an amazing time in Ghent and loved every dish we tried, which is why we called it a food paradise. We're always open to exploring new places, so if you have any other cities with great food, we’d love to hear your recommendations! Thanks for your input and happy travels! ✈️🍽️
Thanks for the amazing tips
Glad they were helpful, have a great trip!
looks delish
Thank you!
Thanks for visiting out little mustardshop ❤❤❤. You're always welcome for a refill :D
We will definitely be back for a refill!!
Good trick for people who don’t have a grill!
Yeah, we were happy that it worked well!
We really enjoyed eating chicken souvlaki during our time in Greece! One of our favorite plates of souvlaki was at Kaomirakis Taverna, right up the road from Elafonissi beach. We definitely recommend checking this place out if you are in the area, they have great seafood too! Kalomirakis Taverna: www.elafonisi-resort.com/restaurant/
My personal food favorites: Stoofvlees, vol au vent, mussels (+ fries and mayonnaise ofcourse 😂) or meatballs with cherry, paling in't groen, ... lots of great choices possible 😊
These all sound wonderful! We'll be back in Belgium soon and definitely want to try more of the food. Mussels are at the top of my list!
I watched the entire video, only for the result to be "all had things we liked" and did not name a winner. Don't waste your time on this video - unless your a dog lover. I loved the dog.
@habdogwriter thanks for loving Bindi! She's the best! We definitely hear your feedback and will keep it in mind for future videos. It was a real struggle picking a favorite since we both had different opinions. But to let you know each of our faves: I loved the Artisan de la Truffe while Mehmet’s was all about Buvette. Thanks again for the feedback 🙂
great idea for a great video...merci beaucoup
Merci! We’re so glad you enjoyed it 😊
Looks yummy!
Thank you, it really was!
Guess I gotta pack my bags and head to Crete this summer
We definitely recommend it!
Such a beautiful place, I was there in 2022 absolutely fell in love with it!!!
We can totally understand why!
I love Crete! One of my favorite islands in Greece
Isn’t it great!?
That lamb looks insane!! 😍
Honestly it was so good, it’s hard to describe with words!
