Thanks for the video I just bought a 2011 DTS yesterday and the test drive was fine but when I got home after buying it it wouldn't start and it seems to be sporadic.
My 1999 SILVERADO 2500HD just stopped starting and now all its doing is turn key and get one click yet no start. I did check my battery and its full. So assuming its the 3:51 3:51 starter i ordered one but its not arriving until Wednesday today is Monday and I gotta get to work tomorrow (tues)..... Now I need to get her started So I'm going to try your backup plan with a jumper cable clipped on my battery ground connector (driverside) and then clipped down on the passenger side of the frame somewhere near the starter? Thank you for the knowledge!!
@@digitalcomplexity yes chance it's a bad ground connection, doesn't hurt to try checking with cables go from negative of battery anywhere on passenger side frame long as it can get a clean bite, rust or paint might mess up good connection. But you should be able to locate a ground there though, but being 1999? Prob the starter unless something other ignition? I can't remember any of that year model having these issues from 08 and up? But possible and wishing you luck
BUICK SHOULD BE PROSECUTED OVER THAT... HAVING TO DO THAT FOR A WATER PUMP IS INSANE...
@@terrystewart8923 right was basically mission impossible! I said never again after that one
Will you happen to know why the 3rd brake light wont work? I replaced bulb & no luck
@@justdissin7340 the other brake lights work but just not the cab one? Possible bad ground there? Might need a test light to see whats missing?
My ford Explorer just did this today
@@Lindy_77 it's common issue on these and unfortunately not an easy fix but also not super hard can be done if you have the tools and patience
@@RANS87IROCZ well I guess I'm gonna try and fix it .. I'll let ya know how it goes .. wish me luck..😂
Sweet I have a sienna BAM SAME LEAK THANKS FROM CANADA 🇨🇦
@@patrickbrendaharris thanks bro appreciate ya, yeah and it's not that insane of job either
So, a 47" ground cable is now $22! but I added that in today and after that it started on the first try. So we'll see what it does when it gets hot? That's usually when it would "click" 5-6-7-8-9 times! before starting... it didn't look that corroded down there but the bolt had a big black spot and there was a little bit of white stuff, so I took some emory cloth and scraped everything up and added that ground cable and run it up to the battery and bing bang boom we'll call that fixed! Thanks
Thanks for the video. Got me back on the road when my truck wouldn’t start , hauling my camper.
aweeee
He wont be able to get rid of them. I hope they dont have babies
@@budsodalsky they was small for most but hopefully not
8 years later and you're still helping people with this. Thank you!
I never understand why dudes switch chit like that. The TH350 is best - as it has no electronics. It's a classic car - so if the purpose is gas mileage then buy a 2024 cadillac. Just like these STUPID ls motor swaps into classic cars. They see someone else do it -- so they gotta go copy them. Takes the "classic" out of the classic car
@@budsodalsky it's such a pain! Like heck had they been the same I would be totally done with it

Portapower needs a bit or re-hab
@@Steve25901 man I had no idea it got that bad 😔 was shocked when I saw it and both other ones as well no good in time, I bought the 2 plastic case sets used for cheap long ago and that metal case one was really nice big one that was given to me, it did have leak at the seal but heck now lord knows if I can get it restored and working again
Looks pretty tight in there
Looks like you don't have to remove the seat but I'll remove it just to have move room.
@@WillieFufu-lo1nb think that seat was a nightmare to remove if I remember correctly, heck even took me few minutes just to get it forward enough, I was stressing over the design but prob was missing something
Mine has all dash lights and headlights but will not turn over

Which grounding cord for 2016 Silverado?
Might be same spot
Is it ok if I drive my truck like this
I'm having an issue my truck wouldn't start I would have to jump my battery or charge my battery so I figure I needed a new battery I just put a brand new battery in and now it just clicks once I went down and I can feel it click on the solenoid for the starter so I figured the starter was bad I took the starter out I put it on the bench I tested it out with the battery and it starts up just fine maybe the ground I did test the battery is fully charged I also hooked up a secondary battery as a jump starter and it still just one click
Yes check that ground connection I show, I worked for a shop and we did all of the above prior, checked battery was solid, tested starter on truck by adding power to the ignition feed and it cranked, we was suspecting ignition after that but? We had 12 plus also on key turn so, we then started checking grounds and magically the ground from battery negative to frame was not making good connection and a simple clean up fixed it, but we also added whole new wire to same spot? Just incase for extra measure and ultimately this solved this customers issue
Taking a set of jumper cables and connect to the negative side off battery then take other end and clean a spot on the frame and then clamp the other end to that clean spot and give it a try, norm if its a bad ground from battery to body this trick will serve as a temporary body to battery ground
Or from negative of battery right to anywhere on engine block you can get the other end to clamp on, like any large steel bracket, or bolts on the block you can possibly clamp the cable too
And sorry for late reply was crashed out from summer heat here, I pray you have luck on figuring out issue and hey love that user name 😂 FJB LGB 😂
@@RANS87IROCZ heck yeah thank you brother I will let you know for sure I'm working the night shift this week trying to beat the heat going to try it in the morning put the starter back clean up the ground and everything I'll let you know how it goes so thank you for the input hell yeah fjb baby
How do I clear the code once I lower my fuel?
You need a scan tool, find someone with one or find reasonable mechanic to clear most parts stores offer scan but not allowed to clear, but definitely had this one here and because it was topped off on fill up the fuel found its way in the purge system causing the issue and for this customer this solved the issue but sure the purge valve can also go bad but if you know that you have been filling it fuel often this could very well be the issue
Thanks a lot I have a 2011 Lincoln Mkx
I wanna see you repair it. u gonna show the processs?
Well I prob should of but need a go pro, my phone not the best for holding position and setting up for such and limited on memory space
I might live stream my next battle, I might be able to do it that way
I replaced ours on a 05 crv and also lifted it, new cv axles etc… ain’t much I haven’t redone lol
That's what's up bro, you should still be doing live videos
Spot on, work for myself, thanks
Nice! Thank you for sharing this precious info. :)
I so wish I had seen your video BEFORE I took it apart! But still appreciate the idea of using all thread. I haven't been able get it using a vice.
Man I feel for you I know its a pain to squeeze it back and line up, when I used the all thread I had two nuts on it, but ultimately after getting it to catch in that hole in there for the bolt, then I used a gear wrench on it and tightened lower nut down and it pulled it back together for me
yea not helpful at all
Because it's a nightmare and did it for employer where I couldn't film my every step
Sorry though
Saw this before my attempt to fix 07 grand prix thx
My transmission was shifting hard suddenly and getting stuck . Speedo wouldn’t move . Thought my trans was going not. Plugged cheap scanner I purchased years ago and me P0502 code . Nothing on vehicle instrument panel. Purchased a new VSS sensor . When I was plugging in I noticed wires were frayed and had been arching . Made a wire fix and new sensor. Problem solved !
Fun Fact: a 2003 Honda CRV EX AWD does not have an EGR valve have had two same year model identical CRVs repair shop says EGR valve is bad spend hours looking for the thing according to where engine diagrams and KZread says it should be call Honda directly to be told that year model does not have one that is controlled electronically by the ECM.
Did we ever figure out a part number?
In all this time I still need 😔 I basically gave up! Why on earth I can find it for v6 700r4 but not the V8 version is beyond me, I had planned on searching for used and also never got around to it
Man i got gray hair trying to find this

Ford: Fix or Repair Daily
Nice chebby truck lookin good
That's one of those occurrences of synchronicity. You wonder how can that be? I get delayed reaction to events all the time. I can usually withstand a hit or a loss or whatever when it happens. It's later on that I feel effed up by it
Wouldn't be that odd to me? If we had tons of squirrels here and had it happened on any other day, I told that friend that recently said the same? Hey look at the squirrel to please watch his steps the next week? Because it's too coincidental in my opinion, Oh and yep over a decade when this happened? I just couldn't believe it was real and it took forever for it to seriously hit me hard
"It fucks me up" I can hear your pain bro.Homie is up there watching over you....
Yeah bro its little over a decade now but still bothers me and yep serious insane flashback with the squirrel incident and the odd fact out of any possible day this could of happened it happened on same day is beyond mind blowing to me, yep it near almost breaks me in tears man to talk about it
It's amazing to me that you used a prybar and a hammer and was able to knock a nut loose you are the Master Mechanic
Well I got the bolt out prior to that but sensor was stuck in place bad and wouldn't budge till I used that
