"And if we ever meet each other somewhere in infinity, you can apologize to me and tell me you were wrong." The gravitas that he ends that sentence with is something else, man

the construction of the hunger is almost a perfect metaphor for fascism, it's actually moving. the only thing i say would be more appropriate for the metaphor ive constructed is him saying "resentment" instead of "dissatisfaction," but even there he's almost perfectly spot on. no surprise that griffin studied sociology in college. also gr8 animation haha

3:50 in this frame, I think the intended sketchy lines on the border of John’s shoulders were meant to be his lapels, but my brain read it immediately as John holding himself, which is such a visual for someone like John 🥲

Can I say the color story of this anaimatic is pretty amazing, showing Merle and John as opposites in p much every way including the chess pieces and Merle as the bright spot in John’s Hunger is just….. chefs kiss.

I can’t describe it, but there’s something about the way Merle says, “I’ll tell ya what, if ever meet each other somewhere in infinity, you can apologize and tell me *you were wrong*…” is SO GOOD. The confidence in his voice… Merle KNOWS that eventually John will change his mind, and I think that’s amazing. I love Merle so much

relistened to TAZ Balance recently (for like the fourth time), and i've been enjoying the lil animations YT has been recommending me since, but... I EXPLODED with laughter at the first frame of Merle shirtless, i just completely forgot that little crucial detail and was taken entirely by surprise much to my amusement. I love the animation, and this scene from the podcast was amazing, "Are you my friend?" continues to be the biggest gut punch, i think, up until that moment of this ep, of the entire show, only to be followed shortly after with, "If we ever.. meet each other, somewhere in infinity, you can apologize to me and tell me you were wrong," AND THEN to end the scene with, "and... kiss my ass, you sanctimonious bastard." I swear, this was the ep that Merle, that Clint, really shone. They all have many many incredible moments throughout the show, but i feel like all of them, maybe even Clint too, underappreciated what Clint could bring to the table, literally irl and literally in the game, as Merle. The way you transition John into the Hunger at the end is really good too.

When Clint finally figured out Merle and really leaned into the character, the show finally ascended. The relationship with John was one of the final pieces of the mosaic. And yeah this animatic does it justice

He's right tho. All we have learned in our pursuit of understanding the origin of life and the universe, the trajectory of time and the end product, it all leads to the total cessation of existence and thought. Whether we do good or bad in this life, when everyone who knew you dies, it will be the same either way. Whether you build or tear down human civilization, when the heat death of the universe consumes us all and nothing is left to observe your sins or blessings, it will be the same outcome. What advanced intelligence gained us was the worst possible thing: to perceive the futility of our own design. A monkey is happy to live, eat, reproduce, and die. The human mind has become able to comprehend that none of it matters. To exist and understand existence is pain. To see infinity is to become unable to be satisfied. Those that find happiness are those that cannot comprehend, or indulge in willful ignorance. How envious to be a fool... #johndidnothingwrong

Your art is so beautiful. When I say the word “beautiful” I usually mean it as just a compliment but your art fully EMBODIES that word. Very inspirational. The balance (pun unintended) of the shapes in your art (can’t really figure out how to phrase it-like the proportions) are so stunning. The expressions have tension. (Hope this isn’t weird, but I did a study or two of a few of the frames and it made me appreciate this animatic all the more. Your style is so pleasing!!) You added such a nice layer to this scene-I love both their designs and the expressions are on point. Thank you!!
