    Hi David, I loved this video but may I ask, do you use THRIVE themes any longer? I left them when it was bought out. Their cost is prohibitive now. I liked Thrive Apprentice but I am not willing to pay their crazy ongoing subscription. All I want to do is build ONE website with a COURSE plugin to sell ONE course only. I want to use TEXT, Video, and PDF downloads if possible. Any suggestions? Steve

    So, this came right after I spent days researching... Wish I'd found it sooner. I am trying to set up a subscription site with a. few specific features, but it can be very simple. I need a protected area for "courses" but I do not need a full LMS. I could use one, but I could easily build it with CPT's or even basic protected pages. I need subscriptions to those. Second, I need a podcast interface, looking at Blrry. Last, I need a Substack style subscription newsletter. 2 Questions: First, is WP Fusion necessary for this or just cool? I don't need a ton of the extras and I'm not terribly concerned with sales funnels and marketing. Is it integral to making the core functionality work? Second, how is FluentCRM in comparison to MailPoet or other newsletter plugins for the purpose of a subscription newsletter? There's a lot there I probably won't need, but the price is in the same range. Is there a downside to choosing Fluent with the extra unnecessary features?

    I have a subscription plan setup with five plans: A, B, C, D, and E. I need a rule where, after a user buys one of the first three plans (A, B, or C), only then can they access plans D and E. Is that possible?

    How to create a members area? Hello everyone! I want to find out how can I create in my website an area/subpage where memebers can login and then access some videos. I want to create the account then provide them with the credentials and that’s all. I don’t want to include payment services etc.. just my business presentation page as the main site and somehow on that webpage to have a section or two that cannot be accessed by the public without credentials and there to include some videos that cannot be copied nor downloaded? Could someone please help me?

    It is shame that Shane sold Thrive Themes to "Awesome Motive". It is a shame that "Awesome Motive" raised the prices.

    Awesome Motive is total garbage. What a garbage, greedy company. I messaged the CEO via Instagram and he did not even respond. Thrive Themes raised their prices, offered less for the higher price, and appears to have "wiped out" and "disappeared" a bunch of websites that I had with Thrive Themes that took hundreds-of-hours to put together. Shane should have never sold Thrive Themes to "Awesome Motive" that is not awesome at all. #AwesomeMotive #AwesomeMotiveSucks #ThriveThemes

    Wow! It's so crazy that I came upon your video today because my renewal for Thrive Suite is coming up shortly, and I've been researching the Kadence theme because of some issues I've been having with Thrive. I recently started a new site, using Thrive as I have for years, and there were so many issues this time that it has been nothing but frustrating. And the GT Metrix scores I'm getting are awful. I have been using Thrive for years, as I already mentioned, but the price just doesn't seem to be worth it any longer. So glad I found this video - now to go watch the others you mentioned in the description!

    Hi David, thanks for the video and agree with you Thrive Themes was awesome with Shane Melaugh. I have used it for every website I have built ever since I found out about Thrive. Anyway time to move on I am not sticking around either. One question though who are you using for squeeze/landing pages now. How good is Kadence at that or what do you use

  • @BlogMarketingAcademy
    @BlogMarketingAcademyАй бұрын

    You can build any kind of page you want with Kadence. You don't get a bunch of pre-designed templates for squeeze pages and stuff, but the platform is more than capable of building them. Same with man others, actually.

    Thanks a bunch, a great tool for sure. However, I too have had issues with code not being executed, I am assuming that 'Prriority 1' is the highest priority? It also seems to happen on local installs, I'm wondering if that may have something to do with it.

    I have an idea for a new video, although I don't know how many people it would help: I was just looking through my database and notice that I have what appear to be duplicate tables with different prefixes. I think what happened was that I changed the database prefix using a security plugin, then later deleted the plugin which I think changed the prefix back to wp_ In any event, I just looked in my wp config file and the current prefix is indeed wp_ When the prefix gets changed by a security plugin, does the system duplicate all the existing tables with the new prefix? If that’s the case, can I drop all the other tables that have the prefix which is not in use?

  • @BlogMarketingAcademy
    @BlogMarketingAcademyАй бұрын

    Never heard of a security plugin doing that. I have seen that when multiple WordPress installs have used the same database, with different prefixes. Either way, yeah... deleting the tables which are not in use now shouldn't give any issue. Might want to back up first, just in case. ;)

  • @MDC885
    @MDC885Ай бұрын

    @@BlogMarketingAcademy I determined what the problem was. The different prefix'd tables in my database were the result of a staging site that didn't get properly deleted by the plugin that created it (WP Time Capsule)

    The pricing section isn't fully right. The price is $600 PER year now since they got bought out, what you get is a discount on the first year. So you pay $299 the first year then get slapped in the face with a renewal at twice the price. Which is something the REAL Thrive Themes team was against, they didn't do any discounts or shady pricing schemes. To top it off, they also changed the affiliate commission so you only get 50% off the FIRST payment, which is extremely convenient for them to only have to pay $150 on the $299 first year and not have to share a single cent of that juicy $600 renewal. I also don't think Thrive Themes is worth recommending at $600/year with other more affordable options right there like Elementor. I haven't checked Kadence yet. PS. Yes, I'm salty cause I used to LOVE thrive and recommended it to everyone I knew. But I can't do it anymore.

  • @BlogMarketingAcademy
    @BlogMarketingAcademyАй бұрын

    Same here. Even if the affiliate commissions were OK, wouldn't matter to me. The suite is now overpriced, IMO. And the issue of lock-in is no bueno.

    By quite a bit, yes. I very much prefer Kadence now. But, if you're deep into the Thrive ecosystem, then may be more convenient to just stick with them. Thrive tools work well with other Thrive tools. Once you start to peel the bandaid, it usually means going all in on removing Thrive stuff.
