What do you use for the top cross pole on the light stands?
Hahaha. I call it Home Despot. Thanks
There are also rolls of pre-primed canvas. They are generally primed with a couple gesso layers. This van save some time (and effort) and allow you focus more on the creative finishing. Also they come rolled, so no creases. They are more expensive than a dropcloth... but for the time they save and the quality of the final product... It is worth it.
My own opinion is to thrift some curtains especially those curtains from the 90’s, they are some of the best thing to be used as backdrops.
I'm curious from a space-saving standpoint, if both sides can be painted?
Post-Corona the jockstrap photos looks almost normal and common ;)
This is a great idea thank you. The only thing I would say to do different is to put more light on your subject. I feel like she didn’t have enough light on her so all of her shots came out fairly dark. It’s a common mistake when the photographers work people of color.
Really appreciate you showing us how to do this! Thanks!
Hi. Thank you for the video. But guys! What I learned from my teachers is that we work in such a way that we need to retouch as little as possible. What can be eliminated before the photo shoot must be eliminated.
What about wrinkles?
I love the paint but why leave the creases?
Impressive results. THANKS for this, need a backdrop and don't want to spend a mint
Thank you for existing dear CC! Love your style and your independent way of working. We just found you while looking for a way to make our OWN backdrop. A Maz ING ….. and happy to have found you …. I Like your combo, like your history , where you both come from and where you are now. Matured by your lives and Unique as we all are. Just like you we want to be ‘visible’ creative contrast souls, especially visible by ourselves 👁. At the end of a full live of working in the 👨🏻💻scientific field and as body worker 💆🏻♀️we have discovered making film and photography. Corona changed a lot for the bad, but for us it Made us discover our own latent creativity, too. Since 2019 we are learning TO Enjoy Creating and with respect for each other’s creativity and learning from more advanced creative souls like you 2, a match made in heaven 😍 We Will be your dedicatie followers now that WE are going to start to create our OWN home studio! You are our fantastic examples … i am afraid I will personality stalk you for every step we take in this new studio and photograhy adventure of ours. Living in Belgium/Netherlands, unfortunately we cannot go to, say Lowe, or Home Depot, but I really want to start making a backdrop like you showed us, I just ordered 10 m by 3M cotton 👩🏻🎨canvas and special RGB paint for canvas💃🏻💃🏻. I hope you have Instagram, so i can follow your work and lessons there, too!👩🏼🎤 soooooo …..KEEP up the exciting journey of yours and please take me by the hand …🙋🏻♀️ IG gkwafocus
Beautiful girl 😍
@the creative contrast I'm looking for a chair like the one you use at 4:21, would you tell me the model?
311 Studio?
Let's go back to the prehistoric days! Apparently no one's heard of painting software and green screen ..
What a tremendous hassle and BIG MESS, I'd rather save and buy one already made !
Cool video. Whats the dimensions of the final product?
There is an expression "don't paint yourself into a corner" You should drop that habit lol
The nondescript cow previously charge because adapter adversely multiply abaft a obese blouse. horrible, periodic jar
Iron your canvas first?
Nice painting 🎨. Wonderful. Please was it the normal emulsion paint we used for houses? If not, could you reply in the comment below with the type of the pain.. Please
probably better to give it a once over with a hot iron first to get rid of wrinkes and creases etc and they sho up here in he final painted version. But good job otherwise.
You talk too much / show us instead of talking please !
Hi. very interesting. But you did not show how you put on the colors you said you bought 4 colors. Yet we only see the blue in the video It needs a lot more details in the video. Gave me the idea though?
What paint sheen did you choose? Eggshell? Great video, thank you!
I whould say after un folding the canves i whold of iron out the lines
What paints do you use, acrylic or oil paint ?
Brilliant THANK YOU!!!!!!!
Is the paint oil paint or acrylic paint? I want to know
Gotta block off the windows with Duvetyne to block out the blue light from the sun outside coming in. One of the first things i learned as a commercial photographer.
Most flashes are the same kelvin as daylight..also a studio flash will overpower daylight in most cases
Wat paints to use so that it last longer and water proof
Fajni faceci mówią o fotografowaniu właściwie tło zrobili świetnie pozdrawiam was i modelkę.
Grab yourself a steam iron, hang it up and get all the folds out of your canvas before you primer. You can always put creases in it later if you want that look.
You mention a 2:1 ratio of primer & water...which is the water ratio ?
These guys hardly reply to viewer's questions......NOT GOOD!
Save time and money and just buy a backdrop. You'll make your money back and then some. Unless you're already a painter you're going to have to purchase all these tools and a can of primer and paint not to mention the time you need to setup and paint. Most paper rolls are cheap.
Some people like building their own sets and stuff. It's part of the fun for some of us. Not for all. 😎
can you guys make a video where do DIY a huge full length canvas backdrop. the kind that allows for full body, seamless shots please!
Great work! I'm curious if you are able to steam out the creases in the backdrop?
Well done guys. I’m currently making my own but am wondering what paint to use as I would have thought normal wall pain would just crack? Did you guys use wall paint or something specific? Josh :)
it me or is the punch ins just showing that ... focus is not nailed!!!!
What paint was used? How much did all of this cost?
What kind of paint? Does it matter? Oil, latex?
Hey! So I'm binge watching your videos cuz I love your content! I'm starting out in the photography world..and if starting out with practicing with one light.. which light would you recommend?
Accidentally came across your comment. This might come a bit late, but here's my advice. Get a strobe that has a modeling light, so you can see where your shadows fall as you adjust it. If you have mains power where you shoot, get one that plugs into the wall (cheaper and lighter). If not, get one with a battery. Look out for a good second hand deal: no need to get the very best if you're just starting out. Btw, speedlights are not ideal because they don't have modeling lights and their power is limited.
The cheapest place to buy canvas is Harbor Freight and they also have different weights. Good video and thanks for sharing.
Sorry to be offtopic but does anyone know of a trick to get back into an instagram account..? I was dumb lost my login password. I love any tips you can offer me.
@Kingston Jensen instablaster ;)
@Kairo Raiden thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process now. Takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Kairo Raiden It did the trick and I actually got access to my account again. I am so happy! Thank you so much you saved my account!
@Kingston Jensen glad I could help :)
hi please next time can you list the things you use and maybe how much they cost
Did the paint make the backdrop stiff? What kind of paint was it ?
Distracting creases on the background.
THank you for this. Can you roll it up for storage, or does the paint crack?
Which brand paint you use here
