@michaelj.kerkau16253 жыл бұрын
Not surprising - reading up on KYW, they were rather pre-emption-prone, much to NBC's annoyance. I'm guessing it was Win, Lose or Draw, though, as it appears that daytime Wheel moved around between 10:30 AM and Noon for its entire NBC run, whereas Super Password was at Noon for its entire run. (Or else *they* were pre-empted in favor of news, rather than Squares.) Win, Lose or Draw was at 11:30, so a Wheel + Draw pairing makes the most sense.
@RolloSmokes11 ай бұрын
As an NBC affiliate, channel 3 in Philadelphia, did its own thing. Being a Group W station probably played a lot into that. But at this time (fall '88) this was happening: "Santa Barbara" ran at 9a on a one-day delay, followed by the local "People Are Talking" at 10a and syndicated stuff in the 11a hour leading up to the noon news. "Days of Our Lives" and "Another World" were the only NBC daytime shows cleared in-pattern. "Sale of the Century", "Super Password" and "Wheel of Fortune" were delayed to 3 to 4.30p, followed by "Hollywood Squares" and "$100,000 Pyramid". KYW-TV created a 2.5 hour block of game shows as a run-up to their evening news.
